I haven't replied as the date is so far out that I can't commit at this point.

There's a 20% chance I have to go to NYC that weekend. Blech. I'm working on making it 0%

I already had your name in the "inked" column. You weren't going to New York.

I need to check a few things schedule-wise, but I'm definitely interested.

Quick question: I live along SART in Costa Mesa. What would you think of me meeting you along SART (maybe where it goes under the 405?), and then riding SART home after the train ride?

That would work fine! I'd consider riding up to the new-fangly train station at the Big A for simplicity but we're flexible folk.

Rule #1 - you express interest - you're inked. I'll go take care of that now!!!

If meeting up closer to home is best, that works. Just remember that we'll be getting in WELL after dark. I know some people are comfortable riding the sart in the dark, others are not. Buy you live there, so I don't have to tell you that.

See you on the 8th!

Oh, it's also possible that I'll drag my son along for the first 10 miles and drop him at my inlaws and then rejoin everybody, which means I'll have a bike rack on my Yukon. I'll have to go to Costa Mesa to pick him up so I could probably be talked into driving you home when we get to anaheim. The inlaws live in the bird streets off Adams.

That would save you riding through stabba ana after dark, your call.

Would you guys welcome a stranger on this ride? I love doing the ride south, take the train north thing. It's also fun meeting new people to ride with. Not sure what level of speed you are planning on, but as long as it's not a total hammer-fest, I can probably keep up.

Absolutely. If you think about it, we were all strangers at one point or another. And as far as pace, look at BG's Strava link in the first post. That'll give you a good idea of pace, but I'm NOT fast!

We're going 20. It's flat. Train accordingly.

If you want to go slower, that's fine but you'll have to listen to PhotoJoe.

Looking forward to it, sounds like we might have an actual gang.

Looking forward to another ahi burger at the Schwack. Maybe even a weed salad instead of pizza at pizza port. Mmmm.... weeds and beer.

After your review of the ahi burger last time, I may give that a try. Weeds at Pizza Port? NO WAY. No self-respecting man rides 70 miles and has salad at a pizza joint!
