Yeah I heard that conversation even though I exited at the other end of the car. Sounds like they had originally gotten on the wrong train, but now they were happy about it as they really liked the bike shorts. Probably just as well I went out the other door to not ruin their fun!

After, when you were backtracking to the train station. I was riding a beach cruiser with a dog trotting next to me. What's funny is that I was in the same spot in the morning and the Sunday club ride passed me.

This was one of these evenings when I wish I'd gone full @jsigone and ridden with a full size SLR.

Agreed. But you really would have needed a tripod too.

Nah, just rest it on one of those cement pillars and use the timer.

Pfft, maybe if you bought a real DSLR you'd know what I'm talking about. meanwhile, put up some of your iPhone astrophotography shots, they look great.

ProCam 3 for iPhone is worth every penny. Full manual controls-- white balance, shutter speed, aperture, everything. The long shutter mode pretty much requires a tripod. Square Jellyfish makes a few great ones, super portable.

@PhotoJoe. I missed it. Had to work. I was laid off a year ago and now do freelance stuff, and deadlines are deadlines. I am training and hoping to make Tour de Palm Springs. I've gained weight, but hope to lose ten by then.

Would have liked to meet some of the others, including Jimmyincalif and jsisgone in person. Maybe in Palm S
prings.

No worries. I'm sorry to hear about the layoff, but glad to hear there are other opps. It was cool to meet @jimincalif, and lots of people still want to meet @jsigone. That guy has some pretty messed up priorities in life. He chose kids over us and pizza. Pffft. Whatever.

I'm planning on Palm Springs as well. I've never done that one, and with the new date, I think it's going to work.

True. But I still want to see someone riding along with a tripod mounted like a frame pump

While riding on Saturday I mentioned to @PhotoJoe that there was an alternate method to get through Newport Beach that wasn't too difficult to navigate and allowed you to take a break at a little park overlooking the ocean that includes a water fountain.

Here's said alternate route: Newport Beach via Inspiration Point - A bike ride in Newport Beach, CA.

For comparison here's the "all PCH" method: Newportbeach via PCH - A bike ride in Newport Beach, CA
