March 2016 100+ mile goal thread
Didn't see a 100+ mile goal thread for March yet, so figured I'd get one started.
I'm shooting for 150 miles. A few days ago, I signed up for the Chicagoland Tour de Cure coming up this June, and I need to get serious about my riding. February was a huge disappointment, so I really need to commit to this goal for March. :) |
March 01 = 6.83 miles.
MTD = 6.83 miles of (at least) 150 miles. :) |
Looking for another 300+ mile month, completed 380.7 miles in February so I need a little more this month.

I wish strava had a 100 mile a month badge, it's 100km in one shot or 1250km (776 miles) for the month. I'm so not going to get close to that. 100 miles in a month maybe when its light longer and nicer out. Of course mine are hybrid/ mtb miles. But I'll shoot for 100 with you.

being 5 week month, I'm going to aim for 550 miles and 3 centuries

My informal monthly goal is usually 300 but I missed it the last two months. I'll try for 400 this month and once daylight savings hits... hills! |

I'm new here and I'm game. I'm 6' 2" and was 305 lb in Aug of 2014. So I quit the beer *ugh I like beer * and started riding in June of 2015. I am now holding at 245. I need to do some longer rides as most of them average only 12 miles and its time to increase the distance to burn some more fat.
Now that the weather is starting its change, I'm setting my sights for at least 150 miles. |
March 01 = 6.83 miles.
March 02 = 7.70 miles. March 03 = 4.57 miles. March 04 = 9.26 miles. MTD = 28.36 miles of (at least) 150 miles. :) |

150 mile goal this month
3/26 — It was a beautiful day, so I explored some routes made up of mostly gravel roads. Apparently not many cyclists make it out to these areas; I had a total of 4 dogs chase me, 3 at one property. I turned down a marked road, but then it dead ended into a farm field, so I had to ride back by the same 3 dogs again :) Not much time for a long ride, but I did get in 12 today. My left crank arm loosened up on the way home; I was able to make it back, but I suspect the square mounting hole is pretty well wallowed out. 3/5 — 24.9 3/9 — 45.0 3/10 — 10.0 3/11 — 45.0 3/18 — 18.0 3/20 — 17.5 3/26 — 12.7 MTD 160.4 |
I'm in for 100. Might even make it @TrojanHorse even with being gone for a week at the end of the month.

I'm lagging in mileage this month. Only 55 to date. Have had a series of heavy rainstorms late last week and this weekend keeping me indoors.
Going to be a low mileage month. My wife and I are meeting up with my three college kids down in Mexico for Spring break later this month. Bikes are not coming along. Probably just throw some running shoes in my bag for a little exercise. |

There was a Strava May Massive a couple years back. I did 1000+ miles that month and made it into the top 1300 of 65,264 riders. 1000+ miles and I didn't crack into the top 1200. Ufda... some folk need jobs.
