2016 Rides Sorted
By now I have sorted out my rides for the year, but just finished earlier in the week.
Really trying to improve on last year and focused on goal setting including weekly mileage goals.
So far this year have ridden 600 miles, both outside and on the trainer.
Goal for the year is 4800 miles.
Rides for 2016 are
Fleche Buffoon April 30th 75 miles 5800ft climbing FlecheBuffoon.com
Cap 2 cap May 14th 100 miles 3422ft climbing Cap2Cap Ride | Virginia Capital Trail Foundation
Storming of Thunder Ridge May 21st 100 miles 9500ft climbing The 7th Annual Storming of Thunder Ridge - May 22, 2016 - Storming of Thunder Ridge Storming of Thunder Ridge - www.stormingofthunderridge.org
Mountains of Misery May 29th 100 Miles 10000ft climbing About the ride ? Mountains of Misery 2016
Farm to Fork Fondo August 06th 113 miles 6962ft climbing Ride Details - Pennsylvania Dutch ? Farm to Fork Fondo
Civil War Century September 10th 100 miles 7546ft climbing Home
Seagull Century October 8th 100 miles 569ft climbing Sea Gull Century
A few flat rides and some real challenges.
If anybody wants info on any of the rides, let me know. I have been able to put together 10 cycling buddies for Storming of Thunder Ridge and hope to actually finish this time, instead of my pulling out after 67 miles.

I'm curious, do some people on these rides use hybrid bikes? Or is it mainly road bikes?
I've already looked over a number of those rides and have considered doing some of the 25-50 mile ones.
Thanks!

Travbikeman,
Yes definitely. I followed a guy for about 25 miles on a Hybrid at the Seagull Century.
Lots on the Cap2Cap too as it is promoted as a family ride as well.

Will do. It starts off easy, then have 2 tough weeks. I was toying with the Assault on Mt Mitchell the week of Cap 2 Cap, but thought it was going to be too difficult. Lets see how this year goes and may consider net year.
