Help me find some gloves for the rain!

I am looking for some good gloves for the rain. The goal is first and foremost to stay dry, but be as breathable as possible. They do NOT need to be cycling gloves, I actually prefer minimal padding in gloves, so other types of gloves should work fine. The key element I am looking for is Gore-tex or similar type of product that will breath. I would prefer not too much insulation, fore I do generate a lot of heat and can always put on liners if I need to. I also need them big., XL or 2XL.

And, I would prefer of they didn't break the bank. I have seen some really nice gloves at Specialized, Pearl Izumi, etc, but they are all $60 or more. I would love something in the $15~$40 range, if possible. If nothing out there exists, which is hard to believe, I will look at the high end cycling gloves, I am simply hoping to find other options.

most specialized gear is expensive and those that requires some engineered materials.

Buy once cry once

especially if you will get solid use out of it will motivate you to ride in that type of weather

I use neoprene fishing gloves. They are not the best for breathing but are great for keeping hands warm and dry. Because they are made for some dexterity to allow you to reel they allow for easy shifting and braking. Got the one i use now for less than $20.

I like the products from Gore. Good quality but not inexpensive. Have a nice Gore jacket and gloves i bought a few years back. Definitely not cheap. But good quality gear rarely is.

2XL, goretex , waterproof and cheap? Good luck with that. I use XL big box long rubber coated gloves, with a polypro thin knit liner. Cheap and waterproof. My hands do not get that sweaty. Look at some xc ski gloves or such. Spring closeouts?

I love gloves & every fall I have to fight the urge to buy more cuz I never loose them. too late tho I already bought a pair at the hardware store that are labeled insulated & water proof. I put them with my roof rake cuz when I rake the roof I usually change my gloves once or twice while I'm out there. it seems when it is roof raking weather I like to come in after & hour to warm up & that's when I change my gloves. long story short, I like to buy gloves, but I only buy them in person cuz "fit" is really important

I haven't found bike specific gloves that fit well AND are waterproof. I've given up that search. I've found that I like mittens best for cold commutes... may not be the best for road riding, but works just fine for commuting where quick shifting isn't a huge priority. My latest attempt are Dakine Titan insulated mittens with inserts. They are a goretex product.

I'm sure they will be put to the test in the coming weeks as the rainy season starts. I hope the are "the ones."
