Is this a good deal?
I just said in my intro that there isn't a lot of used bikes in my area... I searched Craigslist ... I found a ....
"2015 Woman's Trek Aluminum Hybrid Comfort Bike. Less than 15 miles on bike. Rides brakes and shifts like new. Bike has a 13.5 Inch Staples thru frame. Front and rear quick release wheels. Bike is very lightweight. Purchased from Cumberland Transit for $399 then purchased a better seat, kickstand and water bottle holder. This is an awesome bike to own and ride. Only selling due to back injury and medical bills. Bike has a 13.5 inch frame. Perfect I for riders 5'0"-5'6" This a great deal for less than half the price. Bike has been kept inside and is like new. First $235 takes it home." (Sorry can't post URL I'm too new.) Is this a good deal? If so it would allow me to get some extras and have it looked over by a pro all w/i my limited budget... |
If it fits you it sounds like it would be a nice way to get yourself on the road :)

Thanks for the reply... i looked it up on the bicycle blue book sight, but I don't know how reliable that info is, unlike the car version it doesn't take into account your geographic location.... I'm 5'4" and 265 lb... guess I should have put that in there.

Less than 15 miles is not like new; it is new.
If the ad is true then it might be a good place to start, as long as it fits you. There is probably sizing information on Trek's website. |
I looked on the Trek website and couldn't find "Aluminum Hybrid Comfort Bike" as a model. Do you know which model exactly?
As ill.clyde stated the fit is important; if it doesn't fit you will hate it, and you won't ride. |
They have a pic of the receipt it says Trek Verve 1 WSD...
On a sad note I texted about it and someone is going to look at it tonight, so it still may be a no go. |

Ack! Ok. Thanks for the help. I've looked at sizing several times and something just isn't clicking for me. I will go research it some more.

Just did a chat with trek online. I told them everything and he said that today's is longer but that the 2015 would be good 4'11 to 5'2 so still a no go, but I really appreciate the customer service... if I have to go for a new 1 they will definitely be in the running now.
