Tire pressure

Hello!

Just got a new bike, I think the tire pressure was low on first ride and got a pinch flat. I'm about 240, have 700 x28c tires. The issue is the side wall states max pressure 50 psi. Most information I see is 700 tires should be inflated to 90-115 psi. When I sit in the bike there is a noticeable bulge. I'm getting a new pressure gauge today to see what the psi is. If I have to can I go over 50 psi?

There appears to be a WD symbol on the tire

Post a picture of the sidewall. It would be hard to believe a 28mm tire would have a max of 50psi.

Then you need to provide more information that's probably stamped on the tire somewhere. I agree that a max 50psi on that size tire is kind of unheard of.

There's no way the max pressure is that low.

My conti gatorskin 28's state a max pressure of 110 psi. I usually run right around 80-90 psi and I weigh about 208.

I would take that max psi number and pretend it never existed. That's basically a flat tire.

Thanks, I currently have the tire at 68 psi. I'm going to go higher. I bought a tire to replace it that has max pressure of 110.

I suspect your tires aren't 7000x28 but rather mountain bike tires......commonly 26" (mountain tires are measured differently).

Since you can't post a photo of your bike, can you tell us the manufacturer and model?

A quick look online shows most 700 x 38 tires showing inflation pressures of 50- 75 psi.

I have 700 x 38C Little Big Ben tires and sidewall lists pressure as 50-85 psi.
