Anyone found useable bike shorts?
 

In another life, about 150 lbs ago, I did a huge amount of riding. I felt my padded bike shorts were important to my comfort. My first try was padded under ware. Of course being Asian, I knew to buy larger then my us size. Well they were still too small and frankly the padding was a joke. So now I'm thinking maybe some real bike shorts.

That is a long way of saying, have any of you found well made/ well padded shorts comfortable to wear in XXXL. (That's XXXL in jockey briefs) not the Asian "xxxl".

I would like US made if possible

I am exclusively using AeroTech. While I don't wear a XXXL the pad is very good and most of the their designs are made in the USA. I've tried other shorts and being a short fat guy, only the AeroTech stuff fits right.

Another Aero Tech fan here. Nice stuff, and it fits right. Made in USA is nice, too.

I use their XXL and am pleased with the shorts as well as their jerseys.

I'm 360 pounds, and love my AeroTech shorts. I ordered a 4x, thinking they might run small, and probably could have gone with a 3x.

+1 for Aero Tech, I have two pairs of their padded shorts, 2 jerseys and one pair of compression shorts. I like them all.

Ok thanks guys. Got my shorts today. Bibordered 4X because I wear 3x briefs. As someone above said, should have just ordered 3x. Well I do that in a month or two when I really need a smaller dive. Did a 50 mile loop in a rec ride today I was very pleased with the shorts. The more I ride my bike, the more I think I should have got a ( sport) hybrid. What's another 500-600'right?

Aerotech is good stuff and they understand the anatomy of a larger rider, they change the cut instead of just enlarging the same pattern used in smaller sizes.

Pearl Izumi are great too

Nashbar's cheap ones are okay but it takes awhile to get them adjusted so they don't squeeze/pinch in weird places plus the chamois doesn't feel right. They work fine but they just don't have as good a feel.

At first I used Areotech bibs in their 4x; then their 3x. I loved them, but have since shrunk and am using the Bellwether 2x bib shorts.

Keep in mind I have shrunk from an over 48 inch waist in jeans to just under a 46 inch waist size in jeans, and my shirt size has also gone down as I have lost mass (aka blubber).

With all the recs, I will try Aerotech. I am around 275 lbs, and my go to shorts are Specialized, and Gore. Both in XXL. I am breaking in some Bellweather shorts that seem promising. I also have an old pair of Pace shorts in XXL that are comfortable.

Just remember the Aerotech are American sizing :)

I'm looking for a good pair without a pad any recommendations

I've always had great luck with Canari - 2X Bibs and 3X shorts. Comfortable, last well and seem to be more roomier than their size indicates.
I'm going to look at AeroTech mentioned above though.
