My first Metric Century
When I first got back into riding in early July I didn't really have any idea where I was going with it. Mostly wanted some regular exercise I enjoyed that I could do with my wife.
However as the weeks have gone on I've been riding further and further and I set a "someday" goal of riding 100 miles in a single day. Then I found BF which has provided lots of tips and encouragement, and showed me that the 100 mile mark is a common one, and it even has a name!
Last weekend I did a 50 mile (actually 46) organized ride, with my longest previous ride having been 35. It went really well and I felt great afterwards. So today I did a Metric Century and it didn't feel any harder than the 46 miles did last weekend.
To be fair, I did pick an overall easier route (same climbing of just under 3000') but I was very pleased. Now it looks like a Standard Century is within my grasp for this year. I will probably give myself 2-3 more weeks training and give it a go.

Good job. I just got my first metric century a few weekends ago, and in two weeks I'll be going on a full century fun ride.

Check out the Amish Country Bike Tour on September 9, 2017
Annual Amish Country Bike Tour - Cycling Events | Kent County DE
100miles. Very flat course (less than 1,000ft climbing over the 100miles). I doing this as my first century ride this year.

Great job! I did a century (my first and only) the last day of August 2016. I am planning a metric century for the last day of August this year.
