I have insertional achilies issues in both feet (left worse than right) I cycle two to three times a week 20 miles at a time. I use SPD 2 bolt system, should I change and purchase to SPD SL ??

Does "insertional Achilles issues" refer to a specific medical issue, or do you mean that you have trouble engaging the cleat because of problems with your Achilles tendons?

If the latter, the solution may be as simple as backing off the latch's spring tension.

It's possible that you might engage more easily with the SL system, but I wouldn't bet on it. You might invest in just the cleats if your shoe will accept them, then borrow pedals to test before spending big dough on something that won't make a difference.
