Another Bike Post - Brodie Romax 1X

Hello, I'm sorry if posts like these happen often...

I'm might be able to purchase the 2018 Brodie Romax 1X for a great price. I currently ride a Cannondale hybrid and it has held up great, but I'm interested in getting a gravel or cyclocross bike. I'm 5'11", 250lbs. I'm slightly concerned that this bike is delicate or fragile.

it has everything I want... hydraulic brakes, thru axles, the 1 by system seems great to me. is the bike (specifically the frame) able to handle off-road use? ill for sure be replacing the 24 spoke wheels with atleast 32 spoke on the back + very beefy tires.

the bike only weighs 18 lbs and that has me a little concerned.... any thoughts on this?
would a steel frame be strongly recommended over this aluminum? thanks in advance

PS. I cant post a link to the bike... but it's on Brodie's website.

The bike will handle you just fine. The single weak point you've already diagnosed-- a 24-spoke rear wheel might not be up to the task. I started riding at ~240lbs, and rode an AL framed CX bike for nearly 20,000 miles. Then the frame broke-- and by then, I weighed 190lbs. But I never once treated that bike nicely. We went everywhere together.
