Gaining weight on Test Cyp --- frustrating
Mostly a question for the guys but im taking a low dose (200mg bi weekly) of testosterone cypionate
i shot up 15 pounds in 2months with no dietary changes.
I admit that my activity level is limited to physical therapy for a meniscus and a rotator cuff surgery recently but i was losing slowly but surely
anybody else have any problems with this stuff?

Ask your doctor. I'm pretty sure testosterone and steroids both cause body mass increase; muscle build-up for injuries and/or (if not correct dosage based on activity levels) can cause general weight gain.

The Testosterone industry has sure built a lot of expectations out of "T". I am chronically low. I get an injection every two weeks. Dose depends on where I am on the scale. My doc samples for both complete and free testosterone. The "T" industry blames weight gain on low T. Weight specialists blame T therapy for weight gain. I'm unsure how to tell my story, at my lowest "T" I was pretty heavy, but had just broken my back (Free T # was 3. Yes, single digit) 9 years ago. At my heaviest weight, I was just below the low end of both scales. My doc doubled my dose for 6 months, and just before my weight loss surgery, I was above the upper limits for both scales. At which, my dose was cut in half, and I've been midrange for both ever since.
Not sure if this helps or not, just telling my side...

I did testosterone replacement therapy years ago starting in my early 50's and proceeding until my PSA started zooming up. That stopped the Testosterone injections cold. The injections definitely helped me. But my PSA started climbing and that led to biopsies for prostate cancer though both were negative. Scary stuff. I now feel that the nose on bicycle saddles probably contributed to my early prostate issues and I now ride nose less bicycle saddles. In fact because of my avid bicycle riding from preteen to now in my mid 60's I believe that the damage done by the nose on bicycle seats started at an early age and continued until I finally stopped riding them. Your body metabolism may have changed as you age and the amounts of food you used to need may be too much for a slowing metabolism. Any good nutritionist can administer a resting metabolic rate test which will give you a very good idea about how many calories you need per day and what your healthy Body Mass Index numbers are. By the way after my PSA's went up the doctors would not prescribe Testosterone again do to their belief that it might bring on prostate cancer in me. Good luck.

I know - its a conundrum -- Im taking 200mg every 2 weeks -- which I have been informed is a very low dose and will not contribute much to any performance enhancing efforts --- I need to get my first follow up blood work out of the way , but so far, I am not experiencing Ponce De Leon's Fountain of Youth

You don't say how long you have been on the 'T' therapy but if its been a couple of months and no joy, what might be happening is that you are converting the free 'T' to estrogen. More doctors should test for this. You have to ask them to do it. I would go as far as to say that your estrogen was probably high even before Testosterone therapy. It is a common side effect of an overweight condition. You will feel much better with a low dose of an Estrogen blocking agent added to your 'stack'.
i'll re- investigate this when i get my latest labs back.
but its been over 2 weeks since my last injection and my weight has finally started to fall again.
weight loss is a bigger dragon for me to slay right now than the other popularized low testosterone issues

Ughhhh --- its been a month since I went off that stuff and I am now within 2 pounds of my pre steroid cycle weight ----
Sheesh , its taken a little over a month just to get back to zero
Been following a fairly strict keto regimen for a couple of weeks now --- many of you likely already know what that program does to your bowels when youre first starting out If the cork ever pops , I should be under the pre steroid weight
I hate that I lost 3 months of potential progress to this science experiment that promises increased lean muscle mass and the virility of a satyr
