Big boy, big wheels?
Hello everyone. Super clyde here 6'3", 375 athlete. I finally pulled the trigger on a bike and will be getting the Spec Rockhopper Expert coming in about 3 weeks. <- (For research purposes to see if I told them correctly about the specs.) Part of me wants to, as they say, ride it til the wheels fall off...but another part of me wants to be setup from the get-go. Strictly a pavement pounder for now, but will transition to easy trails once I get my bearings, so prolly a ways off yet, and I might want to start a Frankenstein bike build by then anyway. Not really looking for a road set of tires as I will appreciate the bigger ones for added resistance on the street. So I tasked the people over at prowheelbuilder to build me a strong wheel and finally received a quote back from them for the following:
Wondering if I can do better searching on my own? The only thing is that I'm super green with all this, so don't know where to begin. Picking it up slowly but surely. Thanks for this awesome community!

I'd ask to get DT Swiss Alpine III spokes and DT pro head nipples. Sapim Strong aren't very stretchy, so with a max tension of 120kg for those rims the NDS aren't going to be super secure. I've had to loctite them before because I couldn't get them tight enough without having stupid tensions on the drive side. The Alpine II has a 2.34mm J bend, 1.8mm middle and 2mm nipple end so more stretch than the Strong, which is a good thing in a spoke, In any case those rims come with PHR washers which are designed to be used with special DT Swiss nipples, the Polyax are fairly close, but not exactly the same profile.
