30 at 16.3 today. Tried to go easy but windier than yesterday but tried going easy, sore muscle. Man, I'm getting old.

112 MTD, falling behind being lazy.

Hi all,

I've been away for months and off the bike all year. Even though I wasn't going to plan last year's 8,500 miles, I still planned on a robust year (5-6k miles).

Well, in January I took a nasty (freak) fall on someone's farm of all places and fractured my spinal lumber (#2). It was extremely painful and unfortunately, not the first time I've had a compression fracture (first time was 40 years ago in a car wreck) so I was wondering if it would allow me to ride again, given my age, etc.

I can't think about. what I've lost, but rather just keep going and pay the cards I have.

Well, I've been healing slowly and managed about 25 miles today. I'm going to ease into it, so may not ride or even post everyday, but certainly not giving up. Don't feel too bad right now, we'll see how it feels tomorrow AM, lol!

And of course I am officially a clydesdale again at 207 lbs, so there's that, too....not riding will do that.

Fun MUP ride today. a little hilly in spots , but it beats just riding around the neighborhood over and over .

short recovery today ride just to keep the body used to riding .
just realized , if I get to ride some tomorrow, it’d be 14 straight days for me . I haven’t done that since last September.

I am still home-shooling my grandkids so I find it difficult to log on here every day like I used to so I have been a little out of the loop. I do try to log in at least once a week to post my rides but Dang, its been tough month for a couple of you riders out there! So sorry to hear this. My sister, an avid rider who rides in Houston took a nasty fall in the beginning of April; broke her leg in a couple of places and even needed a knee replacement. Stay safe, even one second of carelessness can cost us terribly, its especially costlier and more dangerous for us older cyclists.

Solo 50 miler at 17.0 average speed. Yes, average is important to me seeing if I can keep a 17 on my solo rides, Maybe I am not too old yet.

187 MTD. Near 400 mile month schedule.

Thanks! I love the looks. I haven't bonded yet. I am going to try a short 8-miler tomorrow to see how it feels. Lots of new things to learn, between bar-ends and the different brake levers and a front derailleur...

Beautiful, 75 and sunny when I finished this afternoon.
Iíve got another cart path ride planned for Tuesday . This one will be an 18 mile loop .
Should I rest tomorrow or just take a short ride to keep the knees limbered up ?
