Ain’t it the truth? I had a friend get hit by a car last Tuesday. He’s still in the ICU. Between that and the increasing traffic around here I’ve reevaluated my regular routes. Haven’t eliminated any of them, but I’ve definitely been reconsidering where I’ve been willing to ride.

Ain’t it the truth? I had a friend get hit by a car last Tuesday. He’s still in the ICU. Between that and the increasing traffic around here I’ve reevaluated my regular routes. Haven’t eliminated any of them, but I’ve definitely been reconsidering where I’ve been willing to ride.
I rarely ride on a main road . I just don’t trust vehicles, especially pickup trucks . Although they’re rough sometimes, I ride on cart paths or stay in my neighborhood.

MUP ride this morning on my Trek Multi Track 730 , I’ve been rebuilding .
When I got home I swapped out the front cantis for V-Brakes . Big difference in stopping power.
I need it when following my riding buddy and for dodging people and golf carts on the MUP . Those folks on the golf carts fly around those paths .

May goal: 275 miles - I've had problems with both the primary and backup bikes that has knocked me out of riding much so far this month, so I'm trying to set myself up for success.
Late out of the gate in May, and back with a different UserID. This is rje58_too - the user previously known as rje58. I changed ISPs, lost access to the email I registered with as rje58 and have been trying for MONTHS to get my access restored, without success. Exchanged a few emails with some admins, thought I had done everything I was asked to do, but no dice. So here I am, back as rje58_too.
So, with all that said, I've missed this place and the fine people herein.

Cart path ride this morning.
we have 5-6 tunnels we have to go through. One has a hill as you come out of it . I forgot to downshift and before the hill and tried to shift on the hill and dropped my chain (: . The chain jammed behind the chainring and was a pia to get out . Got my fingers pretty dirty too .
other than that and the wet path from a morning shower, it was a nice ride . I get tired of the neighborhood all the time .

Short neighborhood ride between showers this morning. Cold front coming in , it was 61 degrees when I rode on the wet streets, today’s high , it’s drizzling and 52 now . Strange weather for May around here.
