I had what I think was a great April compared to what I’ve been able to do since my knees started acting up .

I’m still experimenting with crank length.
After doing the formula to determine my crank length, I realize just how short my legs are .
. I should be using 155-160mm cranks but they are hard to find at a price I’m willing to deal with . Especially with a stable of bikes that would need changing.
I was doing ok with the 170’s , but I’m thinking if I go to a thicker platform pedal , that should reduce the useable length of the crank . Some pedals are 5mm thicker than what I’ve been using . Maybe get me down to around 165mm . Would be cheaper than changing cranks .
My Goal for May will be to ride as many days as I can .

Personally, I'd like to get my miles back up to what they were last year. I probably rode too much last year and I think I'm experiencing some over-training issues. And a saddle sore which doesn't want to cooperate. I'm going to try to get back to doing two-a-days. More info than anyone wanted.
I'd really like to set my goal at 1,000 miles, but since I've missed my goal for the past few months, I'll say 800.

May Goal: continuing to survive mountain bike rides, but let's try 300 for all bike rides and see where it goes.

I don't think I've been on a ride this year that hasn't had a seriously annoying and persistent, direction-changing headwind. Yesterday was no exception. Yesterday was also the sixth consecutive ride during which I've seen a snake in the middle of the bike path. I hate snakes!
Hoping to break both of those streaks very soon.

Rain , thunderstorms, even a tornado warning this morning, but by 1:30 the rain had temporarily stopped and the roads dried enough to squeeze in a ride.
Five minutes after I rolled into the garage, the skies opened up and the rain started back .
Kept my continuous riding streak going , now at 32 days .
