Saddle advice (asking for a gal friend).
She's elderly with a classic pear-shape, not tall, has a fair-sized panniculus and wide sitbones.
She's wanting to ride a mid-90s LifeCycle 9500.
Wants/needs a big seat with a cut-out.
I'm finding many options, and knowing saddles are rather particular things, I/we need some help.

As you mentioned, saddle are deeply individual, so despite recommendations, she will need to try them. Go and talk to bike shops that offer saddle trials. There’s lots around these days. Specialised shops used to and maybe still do a saddle fitting for purchase, so you can trial any of their range and then change if they don’t work when you actually get out and ride on them. She may not actually need a wide saddle, just one that fits right.

10wheels, this $2,500 seat recommendation--being one among all the many well-intentioned efforts&considerations for which you have long been known--is a bit much. lol lol
As far as the actual seat on this pavester thing, we've tried variations on the recumbent/seat-back saddle/throne theme and they've been not anywhere near ideal, not even kinda sorta. Gal wants indoor along a inside-corner wall with handrails, and no momentum. Fall risk line of thought.

Just so. I went from a Toupe, then an Avatar, and now a 165mm Power since early '17. This accounts for these last ~15 years. I must say the Power is such a fine seat.
My Specialized local doesn't do the loaner-saddle program. I mean weren't doing so when I implemented the Power. Haven't been in for a year or so--maybe this has changed.

How about the big sprung Brooks saddles (B33, B190, B135, etc.)?
