Damn, I know that feeling!!
First ride in months last week, then 6 solid days of rain and two days where the big wet just didn't dry.
I finally got back out there this morning. It was 5 degrees C at 4:30 this morning but there was no wind and no fog so it was an excellent morning for riding. My legs got a little cold on the down hills, but otherwise the temperature didn't even matter. Still not back to my old distances, still got a lingering cough at times but I managed 3/4 distance today and even managed to avoid being hit by someone who either didn't see me or just didn't give way.
Think today will be the only ride this week too, rain is coming tomorrow and on Thursday it's predicted we are going to get between 70 and 100mm. I don't think the rivers here will flood and cross the roads but with that much on top of what we've had and even more to come after the big event anything is possible

Finally got some miles on the board, but at least it was a fun one, riding down a volcano, Mount Haleakala (lots of switchbacks) on Maui on a downhill MTB. Likely the longest ride my wife has ever done, and most definitely because it was downhill almost the whole way. Would love to do it again by myself, which would be, shall we say, appreciably faster, but the views made up for any lessening of the excitement. Lots of great cycling to be done on this island, but you'd need to start early, because it gets hot quickly and the humidity never wanes, On the plus side, as we were driving yesterday, my wife saw a couple of larger, older cyclists, and said "Look: Clydesdales!" So I guess maybe she listens to me after all when I talk about riding.

Really didn't feel like going out tonight, and it was reflected in a slower pace and lower average heart rate. But I won't be riding Wed, Thurs, or Friday this week, and then for the rest of October I will probably only be able to ride on weekends due to work travel. Need to pack in the miles now that I can.
