I meet my annual goal of 6000 miles yesterday, so I can see what happens with a busy month.

It looks like I'm going to have to miss a week or more riding this month. If I can manage 302 miles I'll hit 8,500 miles for the year. I was really hoping to hit 9,000 miles, but I just don't think it will be possible.

Going for 200 miles. I managed 190 in December 2021.
12/2: 17.3
12/5: 17.3

MTD: 34.6
YTD: 2491.4

One thing I really dislike about winter riding is how long it takes to get ready. Tights, cycling shorts, windproof pants, wool socks. Thermal top, sweatshirt, windproof jacket. Cap, gloves. Then cold for the first couple of miles, but by the 8 mile mark all hot and sweaty and starting to unzip outerwear to get more air flow.

Mark

Ohio weather means I'm more than likely out until April. My cold weather clothing is not really conducive to cycling and, further, I really don't want to subject my Kona to the salted roads.

I have a beater bike I'll use for occasional neighborhood loops, but I expect my mileage to hover around 50 per month for a bit.

I was hoping to ride every day this year, but necessary family business in England is going to bring that to an end in a few days. Currently at 343 days. Might get 347 consecutive days this year, 355 total. Maybe next year.

I just crossed the 2,500 mile mark for the year yesterday, and I'm pretty proud of that. Last year I was less than 1,900.

Tonight was the coldest ride of the season so far - right around 32F.

Today will almost certainly be my last consecutive day this year. Ended up at 347. I probably wont get a ride in again until the 24th...unless I can find an unattended bike in the south of England. Y'all get some for me.

Tough ride tonight. It snowed about an inch on Sunday. Most of it is gone, but there are sheltered parts of the path where the sun doesn't reach and there is still snow and ice there. Went slowly, but after a couple of close calls I finally went down. Had to walk some stretches. Took a while longer than usual, but I still got my miles in.
