I haven't been below 200 since wrestling season my freshmen year of high school. I've been a steady 245 for the past few years, high of just under 270 when I played college football. I don't think I'll ever be under 200 again, but I'm sure I can get close...

6'6" and an eighth of a ton. (Just a little bit over that at 260, actually.)
Outside of catastrophic illness or amputation, there's no way I'll drop below the 200 pound mark. I watch what I eat, I ride 15 miles r/t to work 4 days a week, hike or go rock climbing on the weekends, and I'm hard pressed to even hit the 250 pound mark... and I'm fine with this.
As long as I can still find 36-h/4-cross wheels, I'm a happy man.

I am glad to discover this new thread. I am also one of those women who could lose a few pounds. When I go into the stores to buy cycling clothes I automatically go to the men's section because I know they are more likely to fit me. Any information I can get from this thread is greatly appreciated.

I hadn;t seen this forum yet. I am SIKED
I am 5'4" @ 240# (down from 310) - hope to drop some lbs this winter - haven't been riding lately - got clipped by a truck in July (nothing too serious but my courage was bruised a bit)
I know it isn't an excuse but it scared me the bejezzus out of me and it took a month or better to get back out on the road. Back in saddle happy to say and looking to lose!

As a European completely unfamiliar with the term, I thought you were talking about 91+ kg bikes.
I even looked through this forum and started seeing some racing style bikes, came to the conclusion "Oh well, they must have filled the frame with lead or some exotic super heavy alloy, but what's the point?!"

This forum will definitely be of interest, thanks.
6' 6'' 245, didn't lose as much as usual this season - could be heading for record territory this winter :-)

Well, I certainly have Clyde feet - I wear a size 51 S SIDI. Otherwise, I'm 6'6" 215 lbs - down from 245 lbs this time last year.

Farm out. I'm just under the cut-off, but at 5'6", I can finally say I'm short for my weight.
Thanks for thinking of this!

I'm also glad to find this forum - thanks!
I'm currently 5'10", 214. Started at 5'10" (imagine that!) 282 in Feb '04. Got on the bike again in Jan '06 at around 225. Most of my miles are commute - 30 mile RT, with the (very) occasional weekend ride squeezed in. Have put around 2000 miles on my bikes this year - first on a '99 Rockhopper (rigid) with slicks, and the last 1000 on my '85 Trek 4xx (450, 460? can't really tell...) that I hadn't ridden since I got my driver's license in '86. The weight is coming off VERY slowly now, but I'm hoping someday soon to leave the ranks.
Thanks again for this place!

Seems like the place for me
Hi, Just joined the list. I was looking for larger sized, loose, padded bike shorts. I'm 63 and way too heavy. My V/A Dr. in his East Indian accent told me to exercise or die. So I'll walk until the spring thaw and then back on my old Trek 7600. I"m 6' and over 300 so I qualify for my Clydesdale status.;-).I'll check the sponsers and see if I can find some shorts. Regards from Western NM,Bill

Bill,
As a fellow Clyde, may I suggest bib shorts? When you go to the larger sized shorts, they tend to run a little long...like they were made for someone a little taller than us ( I am also 6'). Shorts in our size tend to have a crotch that is way too low. The bibs tend to fix the problem and keep you from having a crotch halfway down your thigh. OK, maybe they're not that low, but you get the idea,
Juan
