Goals goals and our goals

OK Here's the Goals so far - keep posting them and I will update. I think these goals are really helpful! I see some I may want to try soon!! You guys are awesome!

GOALS:
  • Lowkeydup - Keep it up!
  • Wandalyn – Lose @ 1lb this coming week, Ride 35 miles comfortably, Do 3 'Slim Series' exercise videos and FIX THAT SCALE
  • SimonofSocal –Hoping for #330 by next Monday - That's where I was a couple weeks ago before I let a bunch of drama at work get to me, Goal for the week, ten miles straight ride, Goal for the month 10 miles up a 1000 foot climb.
  • TechKnowGN - Lose 5 lbs, Ride 40 miles this week.
  • RemarkblyOrdnry - Lose 5 pounds, Continue drinking water exclusively, Ride 46 miles in one day... (A trip to my boyfriend’s parents)
  • Cohopsyh - lose 2 lbs, drink plenty of H20, get on the trainer (weather has turned crappy here)
  • Uncadan8 - Lose 5 pounds, Workout 4X and ride 100 miles, Avoid eating junk while at work,Continue having fun!
  • Funrover - Maintain 100 miles commute for week, continue catch up in school, Do great on calc test, Start workouts with wife
  • Missbumble - Workout at gym on cardio 40 minutes Tues, Wed, Thurs, Ride at Bragfest Fri, Sat, Sun including my first 100, Drink 8 glasses of water (not including workout/riding)!
  • JoeMetal - Commute 5x a week., Do ~75 miles, Have fun, Eat smaller things 4-5x a day instead of a big meal 1-2x a day
  • NAtbla - no junk/fast food for lunches (Subway doesn't necessarily count depending on the item purchased), At least 3 days of riding w/ one ride in excess of 65 miles (I have a 200K ride on October 18), Take at least 3 days of walks with family or by my self, lose 2 or more pounds (get back below 210)
  • GearHead82 -80 miles of riding, 2 trips to the gym, cut back to 2 diet sodas per day, only eat when I'm hungry
  • Imeridian - Have at least one ride be equal to or greater than 2 miles, which seems so tiny with talk of 80 mile rides, but I have to start somewhere right?

  • timokabo -lose 2 pounds and work out 3 times at gym

I'm not a Clyde any more, but can I jump in? I didn't lose anything in week 1. I've hit another of those annoying plateau's. I tend to hit one ever 8 to 10 pounds and hang out there for a week or two, then it starts to drop off again. I think during those periods I'm doing some kind of muscle building.

Anyway, I'm a rock solid 165 right now. I'm still after dropping another 10 or 15, though that'll leave me about 10 pounds over my "ideal" weight.

Hi Timo - So is your goal to lose the 3 lbs that you gianed (temporarily) plus the 2 so 5 for the week?? or just 2..I am sure it is likely just a blip on the scale- You will likely have a great showing omnthe dreaded week 2 weigh in!

Modify my goals if it's easy. I'm going to ride a fixed century Saturday. Also, can I be team geek? Brown is not my thing.

If I dropped a pound this week, I'd be happy. Two would be great. My ultimate goal right now is 150.

I'm already averaging close to 150 miles a week, pending child care issues. So more riding isn't going to do it. It's all diet for me. I LOVE to eat! Made harder because I do the cooking and I really enjoy the food that I make. But I'm working through it. Using less meat and more vegi's, portion control is tough though. Part of it will depend on when I bake again, not if. Nothing beats fresh bread and I have a nice sourdough culture. On top of that, I've been making bagels. Good gracious, resistance is futile!

I'd like to join in for this week. My weight last week was around 272, I just weighed in today at 274.

Goals:
1) Since I'm off to a negative start for this week, I'd like to turn that around by next week and be at 270 or better.
2) Once my panniers come in wednesday, start riding to school 2 days a week.
3) increase my morning workout ride by 20 minutes.

Hmm, I forgot a team name. Well, green and grey are taken already. So, I'll go with plaid. Not much chance to ride today, but today was the last day of rent week(don't ask why we go to the 6th, I'm still trying to figure it out), and the last long day of the month. From now on I get off at 2:30. The job may suck right now, but you can't beat those hours. Free rent helps out too.

Hey Joel - I know wht ya mean about loving to eat... But perhaps you could quit baking for a while??? Or perhaps get a food scale and help control your portions... or maybe just keep driking while you cook constantly...

My goals for week two.....

1) No more soda
2) Ride another 75-100 mies this week
3) TRY to cut portion size
4) Bowflex 3X a week
5) Swim 2X this week

I was called in today at work and was told my hours are changing which is a good thing for me. I will be working M-W-F full days and the others off, so this will give me more time on the saddle next week when it starts. I'm already getting a pension and wanted to work part time anyway so this is perfect for me!!

Weight today 261lb.....gained 2lbs in two days?? I must of lost more water weight then fat. Or as I want to beleive I gained 2lbs of muscle weight.

It's just a matter of willpower. And if I don't keep the sourdough culture fed, it'll die. So I just have to bake at least once a week .

Man, another bad day at work. Sorry, I promise this will be the last time I moan about it(it's just that I'm a big stress eater, and too much stress quickly equals too much me.) So, surprise visit from the boss today, a but load of extra work, and no chance to get started on it because she wanted to drive the property looking at trouble spots. If she would quit throwing all this extra crap at me there wouldn't be any trouble spots.

Get home type up an email to some friends. Start proof reading it and see the whole thing is just a rant about work. So, I hop on the stationary for a hard ten minutes to burn off some steam before going shopping. Too hot out for me to really enjoy a ride, I was really hoping that break in the weather over the weekend was going to hold for a while too. Hungry after my ride, I had to force myself not to load the cart with junk. Did break down once and grabbed a couple slices of cheesecake. Did you know they sell single servings now? Do they hate me? I can resist a whole cake, but just a slice or two won't kill me, right? Those *******s

Get home, surf for a while. Eventually decide to have a pot pie(delicious & nutritious) & a few beers(a little Octoberfest off. Becks vs. Sam Adams. Sammy wins hands down, but I'd still prefer the original of either.) for dinner. Finish it off with the cheesecake. Then I realize what I've just shoveled down my gob, and hop on the stationary for an hour. Nothing like my mad sprint of earlier, but still a respectable ride.

My knee started complaining around the 40 minute mark, I almost quit then, but was able to ride through it and it's feeling fine now. Let's see if it's okay in the morning. One stupid stumble last year and I'm still paying for it. The damned thing is getting stronger as I ride more, but I've always got to be aware of it.

So, that was my day. Aren't you all just thrilled I decided to share Well, off to bed, to rest up and do it all again tomorrow. Minus the cheesecake.
