Got My Trainer Yesterday!
 

Well it came! Yesterday I got my new Minoura 850R. I was so excited I set it up in my living room. I put about 10 minutes on it just to try it out. I am going to temporarily set it up in my upstairs bedroom and get started getting started.

I have to say it is quieter on the continentals than I was expecting. I have heard some horror stories about people not being able to hear themselves think. I am also happy with the amount of available resistance. I will get a good workout with it.

And the nicest thing of all, I am working out on MY bike, so when spring comes my behind will once again be accustomed to the seat. No More Spring Butt Aches, and no more loosing ground in the winter.

I know I have a long way to go to be back where I was 2 years ago, but I think I will be there before spring hits.

I have a good attitude now, and nothing is going to hold me back.

I too am looking for a trainer. Where did you get yours from?

I'm with you! I just today picked up Kurt Kinetics Road Machine.
Seems setting it up is as much a work out as riding it :rolleyes: I'm sure it'll get easier over time.
But I, too, did give it a little try out before dinner (after having already done 20 miles today)... nice workout. 30 minutes on this will kick my butt.

I got it from Performance Bike. It seems quiet, but I have Continental slicks. I also got a trunk bag, and rack, and a 50oz Camelback.

Today I am going to look for a speedometer that I can put on the back tire and keep track of my winter mileage.

I've had good luck with the Performance brand. In 8 year's I only had to replace one once. Though I was looking at the Minoura the other day, and was hoping the my current one would break ;)
