New Clyde

Greetings to all! I am 50 y/o, 5' 9" and 245 - 250#. I have bicycled before however only for recreation and not in about 8 yrs. I bought a leftover 2006 Specialized Crossroads at a bit of a savings at my lbs. I put a rack on the back, a small under the seat bag and a simple cyclocomputer as well. Winter is slow leaving this year however I have taken it out 2x. Two days ago and I just returned from the second.

It was a huge slap in the face that each ride was just about 1 mile and in the end, each time my legs felt as if I had been on a ship for a week Out of breath - yes, heart pumping - yes, discouraged - no...because of the many posts I've read here, thank you to all.

If the weight database is active, I'd like to participate.

Mr. Stormcrowe, I have followed your posts and links/pics; you are a true inspiration as are others!

There'll be plenty of time to post further so that's it for now.

-eric

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Welcome, Slim

The first few weeks will be brutal but hang in there, it does get better.

Welcome Eric, I felt the same way a few days ago after going about 1/4 of a mile! Basically we have to just keep chugging along and in due time we will be cruising along like the rest of these guys
