How about a virtual ride on Sunday? Tax Man Scramble!

Sunday, being the 15th, I have a great idea! Let's have a virtual Time Trial!

Call it the "Tax Man Scramble"! The idea is that the IRS is chasing you and you get off Scot Free if you beat him (Not reality, I know....but fun is fun and that's a good motivator!)

Sound like fun? We can keep it short if you'd like, sat 1 Km, as fast as you can ride it. Use a rolling start, and ride that measured kilometer (0.62 mile) just as fast as you can.....like the tax man is chasing you!

I'm in.
After the 2000' vertical feet in 2.5 miles I'm hiking on Saturday, I'm expecting to post around a 5 minute KiloTT finish.

(If I can't outrun the tax man, I can at least climb out of his reach!)

I had to do mine yesterday. Nasty storms all day today, so won't be riding. Trying to convert my mile data to meters and don't like what I am seeing, but my best mile yesterday was 3:26 and I believe that would make the 1KM at 2:02 or so. Might need to have someone check my calculation.

206secs*0.62= 127.72 seconds to estimate time for the KM. 2:07.72

I have no idea about time, I was too busy going insane fast!

~22mph average on a 1 mile slight (very very very slight) uphill on a nicely paved road. I cheat a beat because there's a VERY fast slight downhill right before it, and if I pump hard enough I can average 20+ for the last 2 miles home .

Talk about fun. 70 degrees and perfect here today. FINALLY over 50

2:36, and the tax man still caught me. I owe enough to buy the Surly LHT I want, so I guess I'm going back to work tomorrow morning...

On the plus side, I might be getting an '87 Schwinn Paramount (still a Waterford frame?) for nothing more than the cost of shipping it from Cleveland to Seattle.
