What size bike do you ride.

I have been lurking here for a few months. You guys have been very helpful with my decision on what to buy. I just ordered a Trek 7.2 fx in a 25" frame. It has been hell finding a frame to fit me and I am 6'3". I am just curious what size frame most of you guys ride.

bdinger 04-16-07 10:47 AM

I'm 6'2" and ride a 22.5 Trek 7.3FX and a 19in Specialized Hardrock.

Good choice on the FX! I've had mine for a couple months, but thanks to the cold/crud not enough miles. Hate the saddle, love the rest :). The FX fits me great as does the Hardrock. In fact, I like how the Hardrock fits me almost better than the FX, but that's probably because I haven't gotten used to the FX yet :).

59cm Lemond Sarthe - it fits my 6'2", 37" sleeve, 34" inseam body perfectly.

Tom Stormcrowe 04-16-07 01:36 PM

58 Cm

cheeseflavor 04-16-07 01:56 PM

59cm Specialized Roubaix. i'm 6'3" and 205lbs. The Roubaix sizing seems to be conservative. I also have a Bianchi San Jose in a 61cm that fits similarily.

I think that across the board Specialized is a little conservatively sized. All of their 19in MTB's fit me great, whereas with others that I've tried (Trek, Haro, Kona) I've needed at least a 21.

25" Trek 7200

TexasRider 04-16-07 06:40 PM

19.5" Trek 4300D and 28cm Trek 1500. I'm 6 ft tall.

bikingshearer 04-16-07 06:53 PM

25" (63.5 cm) c-t-c 1967 Schwinn Paramount - pretty good size for me.
61 cm c-t-c- 2000 Lemond Zurich - a ahir short, not enough to worry about
25" c-t-c 1994 Trek 520 - about right, stem's too long (you'd think I'd get around to changing that . . . .)

6'1" and I ride 56-58cm bikes, depending upon the make and actual geometry. About a 57cm top tube is about right for me.

Dewey Oxberger 04-16-07 08:55 PM

Well, 6'4" here and I ride a 64cm road bike. I could use another inch in the top tube. I have a fairly long reach on the stem and deep drops and it's close to right but I'd like to try larger. Still, it's the most comphy ride I've had so far.

breadbin 04-17-07 01:20 AM

I'm 5" 11' and I ride a 22.5" frame, road bike. My MTB is 18.5" and it was told it was too big for me. it is comfortable though so thats the main thing.

seosamh 04-17-07 02:29 AM

i'm 5.9/10ish, and use 16.5" gt avalanche expert.

I'm 5'9 as well and ride an 18.5" Norco Bushpilot, and I sometimes think I could have gone one size larger... It's like clothing sizes, an inch isn't always an inch:D

Trek Navigator 3.0 in an 18 inch frame. I'm 6'1", 249 pounds. Between the left leg lacking a full extension and my scoliosis, I've had to have some adjustments made to the bike.

I'm almost the exact same measurements and my 59 cm Lemond Buenos Aries is just a hair long for me. I think this is because I'm so horribly inflexible. Once I get a stem that is a centimeter or two shorter I should be fine.

I also ride a 1997 S-Works hardtail in a 20.5" that I refuse to give up because it fits like a glove.

Terrierman 04-18-07 08:04 AM

I'm 6'1". I started out on a 21" Navigator. I just bought a 21.5" Coda Elite.

audioel 04-18-07 12:01 PM

I'm 6'4", 37" arms, 35" inseam and ride a 64cm 1984 non-compact roadbike, and a 60cm compact geometry fixed gear. My mt. bike is a 23", and I also have a 64cm non-compact touring frame I'm building up right now. I also have a 21" beater rain-bike, beer getter trek aluminum mt. bike, built up as a single speed, with the world's longest stem & seatposts. ;)

Burrito Eater 04-18-07 01:03 PM

Im 6'4, 225, 34 in inseam. I ride a 19'' Surly Karate Monkey that could be a little big. A 58cm Cross-check for a road bike, and a 59cm Steamroller for another road bike. I had the fitting done through speedgoat bikes and went with their recommendations, I think they were pretty right on.

CYLax 04-18-07 01:52 PM

6'5'' with a 37'' inseam, ~220lbs and I ride a 63cm Cannondale road bike. I can't remember exactly what size my MTB is...23'' maybe...it's got a really long seatpost for XC rides though.

aboyd 04-18-07 02:13 PM

6'4" and I ride an XL Giant OCR C3, it fits well.:)

pityr 04-18-07 02:26 PM

6' 2" on a 61cm trek 1200.

ChristopherM 04-20-07 12:31 AM

6'4" 268ish(down from 290) on a 63cm Trek 1000
