Quick shorts size question...

I'm getting ready to order the "BIG Man's Pro Bike Shorts" from Aerotech. Is the shorts size actual waist sized as measured or waist size worn (ie. pants waist). Recommendations? I wear 44 waist pants. But on measurement I measured 46ish. What would you go with? I was thinking the 3x but am unsure.

Could you post back on how they fit when you get them? I am planning on buying a pair from them and wear a 44 in jeans and would appreciate knowing if they fit comfortably or not.

Thanks,
Steve

P.S. If you are looking for something on the cheap to just ride around in Target has spandex shorts for $14.99. I bought a pair just to wear for short exercise rides. They're pretty comfy. No waist drawstring though.

ALso stopped by wal-mart for some wicking shirts. Clydes definately need to get the performace wicking t-shirts. If you normally wear 1x-2x buy a large. They fit nice. A little contoured on the sides but very airy for rides and they're not compression type shirts. $7.99 each. Also have a relfective small logo on the front nice small addition for night rides (Every bit of visibility helps) .

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Only thing is, there's no padding in those exercise shorts.

Hence the short exercise ride. You wouldn't catch me for more than an hour or two in those. Ouch.
