Sweat in the eyes -
Okay,
With the help of all you great people I've got a road bike that fits, pedal extenders to keep my big feet off the chain stays, a saddle that holds my butt well, wheels by Mr. Garcia that keep me from creak'n and pop'n spokes. Now I just need one more thing and I've reached my Heaven: How the flip do I keep the sweat out of my eyes.
Dumb question I know. I've tried sweat bands - 15 mi and they are soaked and I'm blinded.
I've found the orientation of helmet pads matters a lot. Horizontal pads above the eyes helps keep the sweat out.
Is there something I'm missing here? As it stands if I take a small towel I can stop at about 15 mi and "empty the pads" and towel off but I'm only good for another 5 mi and I have to stop again.
What do you all do to keep the sweat out of your eyes?

I put my sweatband over my helmet straps (put it around your neck while strapping on the helmet). Then you can rotate it around to a dryer spot from time to time. If that still isn't enough, a spare around your neck and swap them after a while.

I use a bandana "gangsta" style, under armor skull cap works great too.

Get a skull cap and wear it under your helmet, you will be amazed at how well they work at keeping the sweat from running across your face. The synthetic ones - Under Armor and the various knock offs are not any hotter than a helmet, actually seem cooler to me.

It could be a ventilation problem. I notice than when I am keeping a decent pace the wind seems to keep the sweat at bay but when I stop or slow down the sweat starts pouring down into my eyes. I agree with the recommendations for sweat bands and dew rags but you should make sure your helmet allows enough air to flow across your forehead.
Maybe a more ventilated helmet would help. Just a thought.

Thanks everyone! I knew you'd all have some ideas. Rotating the head band, dual headbands, goop around the eyes, better air flow, Halo headbands... "I'll do it!"

What kind of helmet are you using? Try one with more ventilation. I also use a Halo headband when the temperature gets over 90.

I use two sweat bands. Put one on and hang the other from the handlebar. Swap them when one gets too wet.

I found a local store with the Halo II bands. Did 24mi today at 82 degrees. Zero sweat in the eyes.
