Blowing my own trumpet
From alt.support.diet:
Those who know me from last year when I posted a few times know that I
was dieting with a certain amount of success but had a hard time getting
motivated to start an exercise routine.
Today marks the middle of the second week of daily bicycle rides at
work. This is the first time I've exercised regularly in over 10 years.
It's not much, riding for about 20 minutes in the middle of the day, but
it's been enough to get my heart rate up and work up a good sweat. The
plan is to grow it into an hour-long ride every day. Today I went about
2 miles and max speed was 18mph. I couldn't figure out how to get my
bike computer to give me average speed, but I'll worry about that for
tomorrow's ride.
I'm having a lot of fun, and I forgot how much fun I had riding my bike.
Credit goes mainly to Neil for getting me off my ass. I mean, if a
man at his place in life can learn to ride a bike for the first time and
kick ass as much as he has, what the hell is my problem?

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Feels great knowing you've made a positive impact, doesn't it, Neil!
