I'm a Clyde, but I'm ok with it...

Hello everyone, I call myself Bionicycle, but my first name is Bill. I am a Clydesdale/Mega Clydesdale. I just wanted to say hello to all my fellow Clydesdale/Athena’s and tell you all just how inspirational so many of your stories are.

Like many of you, I didn’t know if a bicycle would hold me; I am sad to say, I’m weighing in at around 275lbs, right now. I was afraid that my bike would break, or that other cyclist would criticize me… But, having read some of your post I now don’t care what other people think… Because I have came to realize that there are a lot of us larger people out there trying to enjoy bicycling.

I took cycling up again because I need a low/no impact form of exercise(I had my left hip replaced about a year ago), and cycling seemed like it fit the bill pretty well, besides I used to love riding when I was younger, and it is something my wife and I can both do together. I’m looking forward to reading and finding out more information about cycling from all my fellow Clyde’s and maybe someday I may have the knowledge to help out any future Clyde’s that find this site…

Well, that is all for now… I hope to get to know and communicate with many of you in the future…
Now if it just wasn’t so darn hot here(95 heat index 105), maybe I would go riding…

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Well, hello, another fellow Hoosier Clyde!

Where in Indiana?

I'm in Lafayette, myself!

I was worried about bikes breaking and people acting strange at bike shops, but fortunately none of that happened. Usually people are very nice when you are trying to get into cycling, and sometimes it seems like any frame is made to hold just about anyone.

Oh, in case you didn't know, Hoosier Clydes are the most fun.

I live in Marion... I'ts a nice place for riding, because we have the rails to trails Cardinal Greenway that runs right through town, plus a river walkway/bike path that starts downtown and ends up at Matter Park, and another bike trail over by Sweetser. Plus if you go a bit South of Marion/upland area, the Cardinal Greenway starts up again and goes through Muncie and several other small towns. I wish they could get all the trails connected, but there are some land owners that will not let the Greenway go through their area; so the trail is broken up a bit... It's still a nice ride... the wife and I have only explored about two thirds of it so far...

Yep, I've ridden the Cardinal! Mariner Fan is another Clyde in your area, by the way. I'll PM ya the next time I head over that way to ride the Card.....

Weekends, I presume?
