I just got called by a big corporate company who wanted me to come in and work for them for 2-3 months. There were several reasons I said no, but one of the big ones is I HAVE NO CLOTHES.

All I've bought in the past 3 months are cycling clothes.

When I started this whole thing, I went through my closet and tried everything on. I packed the stuff away that was too small for me in boxes labeled "-10 lbs", "-20 lbs", etc.

I have now emptied all the boxes except one (and it's tiny), but I've already had to ditch the clothes I just opened up! Most of the stuff that fits me now is winter clothes.

Sure, I can cover myself if I need to. And I wear the baggy stuff around the house (which is fine, because I work from my house), but if I have to pull together something decent to wear, it ain't gonna happen. The few things I do have don't even go together.

And I'm not buying new clothes unless I have to, much less a work wardrobe for 3 months.

Just thought I'd share! It's a nice problem to complain about! Anyone care to join me?

I gave all my big stuff to UPS and right now, I have VERY limited stuff to wear other than cycling duds or jeans or shorts and T Shirts. Feels great though!

I am back into my clothes again. For a while, it was all sport shorts with elastic. Now, I can fit into my jean/khaki, etc shorts when I need too. All my shirts are pretty much Tshirts anyway and I like them big so I can lose 50 more pounds and still be happy in my XLs and XXLs. I am kind of a relaxed dressing guy.

I do hope to be down to my skinny jeans by winter. They are currently in the basement.

I know the feeling. This past winter we spent a bunch of money updating my wardrobe with very trendy, big dude clothes. They would all look killer on my now that I'm smaller... but they are all way to big. My wife, who is a recovering shopaholic, wants to keep buying me clothes. I won't let her because I know I'll shrink out of them. I did let her buy me a killer pair of vintage low rise boot cut jeans that are one size to small. They are motivation for me to make sure I can fit into them by fall.

Well, I'm a freelance photoshop jockey/ designer/advertising person. I worked for this place for a few months before when they were busy, but now I have more of my own clients. If I go somewhere for 3 months, to my clients it's like me taking a 3 month vacation. And the deadlines are too tight to do both.

So, yeah, I wanted the steady income, but by not going it was kind of an act of faith on my future. Besides, I already have work that I would need to finish up before I went. It's all kind of messy, and going to a place for 3 months would just make it messier.

I'm quite sympathetic. Hell I bought a medium size vest from Patagonia the other day. All my nice suits are gone, I have like two polo shirts, one pair of jeans...

Next spring will be one heckuva trip to Brook Brothers.

I'm really glad I work from home, too. So far most of my stretchy-type clothes still fit ok, but I had to (got to) throw out the big jeans last week. My skinny ones are still a bit snug, but they should carry me through the winter. Bike clothes are more fun to buy than professional clothes, anyway...

I've gotten down to large bottoms and XL tops in the past few months. School is starting soon and there isn't much I had in my closet except a few things I kept when I was on the way up. Steve&Barry's was my savior, especially since it doesn't seem like it will be too long before I'm down to Large for my shirts. It's a problem, but a good one to have.

One of the great things about working for the USPS is that if you aren't a window clerk, you can wear just about anything you want as long as you have no open toe/no open back shoes, and you're reasonably decently covered.

My work clothes are also my biking clothes (at least for reasonably short trips, under 30 miles). I do look like a fred, though. Who cares?

Thats what I love about my job. Today... black jean shorts, button up short sleeve and hiking sandals. Yesterday I wore a tshirt that sais nothing but "Pwnd" in big white letters. I have about 10 penny arcade shirts and probably 10 more from thinkgeek... I get to where whatever I want.

I love working for a small company, especially as a developer...I rarely have to attend meetings... I just code and play ping-pong. And, just in case, we all keep a set of "emergency" clothes in the closet. Semi-formal stuff for those clients that call and say 'Hey, we're in Norfolk today, we might stop by and check you guys out!'

Then again, most of our clients end up taking their jackets and ties off, loosening their shirts and playing some ping-pong with us...

Back to the topic...

Do your feet shrink too? At least the width? I always end up having a hard time trying to find wides...

I work as a truck loader for a courier company, and work nights, I basically wear shorts and a T-shirt for the summer, will switch to jeans in a couple of weeks, when it gets cooler out, nice thing about working when the big shooters aren't around, I shave like twice a week now, saves a ton of money on blades and shaving soap. Might just let it go for the winter though, at least until my S.O. complains.

I found I dropped two shoe sizes - 14 to 12, but my feet got wider. But some of the width is to accommodate arch supports.

Meanwhile, I went from a 60" inch waist to a 44, and on a good day I can wear a 42. The loose skin buildup around my waist keeps me a little broader than other guys weighing 240.

I've also shrunk in the chest area, although not enough for my liking - I still have severe gynecomastia. I can wear a size 17 dress shirt, or an XL sport shirt, depending on cut. I prefer shirts - and jerseys - cut loose; when someone says "nice rack", I want them to refer to my commuter bike.

I've often wonder... I have several male friends that need to lose weight and their biggest complaint is "man boobs"

Why can't a guy wear a jog bra. Would that be too creepy? At least it would hold the "girls" up and in so you can wear lycra/spandex without fear. Even with a broad chest there are companies out there that make jog bras for larger woman that should fit a guy.

I'm just saying...

I have the loose skin issues too, because of massive weight loss. I wear a compression/wicking T under my jerseys to prevent the "Parachute" or "Flying Squirrel" effect

It helps when you're still a bit big too and contributes to wicking the sweat enyway. That way, you don't have to use Kramers invention of the "Bro".

Jog bra's mash things flat. Still - I could not really see a guy being comfortable with that idea.

No, not at all. Between the Lycra and the bra any guy, no matter how masculine, would feel like a freakish drag queen.
