My first bike
Well folks, after much research, a lot of advice, and the help of a friend, I have purchased my first bike. I am now the proud owner of a 2007 Specialized Hard Rock. I would like to thank all of you who through in your 2 cents to help guide me in the right direction. I purchased my bike on Wednesday of last week, and have put right at 12 miles on it adn dropped 2 lbs. I am using it to commute to and from work ( approx. 3/4 miles one way.) and for cruising around the neighborhood. I never realized the difference in a good quality bike and a shelf bike at Wal*Mart. It is simply amazing. It is te first time I have actually looked forward to getting some exercise. I weighed in at 406lbs. this morning and I am looking forward to shedding the lbs on my new Specialized Hard rock.
Thanks for all the advice,
Daniel

WELCOME TO DA CLUB.
Great choice! I started around the same weight on my HR, and it's held up fantastically. I keep considering selling my other bike and just riding it, but I can't get over my speed addiction
.
However, I am looking forward to the winter. Lots of cold weather miles to be had on the knobby tires!

Welcome, Brian. I'm glad our "Staff" could be of assistance. Nice choice on the bike. Now get out there and get some experience that you can pass on to the next newcomer.
