Small Potatoes for some

I just turned the 2000 mile mark.

I have seen the numbers some of you put up so I know this isn't that big but I am pretty stoked about it.
I have been at 1996 for the last week or so due to weather. I finally got a nice little 7 mile loop in tonight to finish it up. It is suppose to be nice the next week so maybe I can get at least another hundred by the end of the year.

Don't downplay your achievement--it's still something that many folks would find mindboggling to even imagine.

And, did you even dream that you could do such a thing even just a few years ago...?

Congratulations !

Congratulations! 2K miles is nothing to sneeze at (except over your right shoulder, at speed, in the dark)!

Do you have any goals set for next year yet?

Outstanding! No, it isn't small potatoes, small potatoes (well, make that large potatoes in size, but small potatoes in attitude), are sitting on the couch!

I consider that quite impressive!

The main thing is to set a goal and give an honest effort to achieve it! Even if you don't reach that goal, you can still look at yourself in the mirror and smile. It's a no lose situation!

Not too shabby at all. What was your goal at the beginning of the year? How does this compare?

Nice work!
I wasn't even close to 1k let alone 2k this year, don't worry about the accomplishments of others just do what works for you.

Thanks all,

My goals next year are 3K, ride across state, and climb Mt. Nebo (the one in Arkansas). I made it 3/4 the way up the mt. this year and then had a bike re-fit to me. Now it pulls muscles that haven't been used in a while and I am having to build them up.

Actually numbers don't mean squat! I had a couple of years at 3-4,000, one at 7,300 and this year 5,000.

The years I did 3-4,000, I was a much better climber and faster on the flats. It's all about intensity. I know riders with 2,000 that can't be touched by other riders I know with 7,000-8,000!

And like the others said, riding 2,000 is unimagineable for most of the world's population!

Glad to hear from you again. How have you been? Congrats on the poster award.

No, the cross state did not happen this year. Hopefully we will get to next year.
