I want to get tired

Hi,
my Schwalbe Marathon Racers have been very good tires. I just don't like them very much. I was hoping for a nicer ride.

I am looking at other tires.

On my list at the moment is...

1)Rivendell Ruffy Tuffy 27c.. I have used these for years. They are a nice compromise between this and that. They flat a little too easily. Claimed weight is 328 grams.

2)Panaracer Pasela TG folding 32c.. My Sis has this tire and she has had good luck with it. I may try it myself. Real size is about 30c and a claimed weight of 330 grams. I bet it weighs about an ounce more.

3) Conti Gran Prix 4 Season with Vectran... I have been wanting to try a tire with vectran. This comes in a 28c but their 28c is closer to 25c or 26c. It's a bit small, but light and tempting.
Claimed weight is 256 gr.

Help me make up what I laughingly call my mind.

Edit:
Schwalbe makes the Marathon Supreme in a 32c now. That tire also has vectran. It's heavier than my 350 gram limit at 430 grams, but because of the vectran and incredible reliability; it goes on the list. But the price could be an issue, $132 is a LOT
for a couple of tires.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Take a look at the Soma Everwear as well.

I've never been displeased with Continental tires. I use Gatorskins and Contacts on two of my bikes. I like the way they ride and I've yet to experience any puncture problems with either.

Just wish that tire with the vectran came in what they would call 30c or even 32c.
It would definitely feel quicker, which would be nice. I just wonder if the air volume is adequate for the kind of ride I like. Think I will hit a couple bike shops and see if anyone has a Conti 28 I can look at.

I may be wrong but I think the vectran layer is essentially what Conti calls "Duraskin" in which case the Ultra Gatorskins have it too. Those are available in 32c size so those might be worth a look. I don't see much difference between the two other than weight and tread pattern.

Vectran is the latest and greatest hi tech fabric and quite expensive... As you know,
the Gatorskins have been around for a while. But the idea of doing a vectran version
of the Gatorskin sounds great.
