Local MUP opens this weekend!

We finally got a local MUP. Now I can get off the road for a bit. Unfortunately it is only 10 miles long.

Does it connect with other paths and/or cyclable roads on either end?

From the pictures, I'm guessing that it is a RailTrail. What is it called?

Don't run red lights, wear a helmet, use hand signals, get some cycle lights(front and rear) and, FFS, don't run red lights!

It is the Legacy Trail. So far there are no plans (funds) to connect to other trails.

Yes, it is already paved. And yes, the elevation change will be rough

I ride around White Rock Lake here in Dallas quite a bit. There is one section that trail that is on an old railroad grade. It is the most irritating thing. It is just barely uphill, but it is a very uniform slope so it doesn't look like you're going uphill. It just feels like you're weak. But I'm sort of getting used to it now and it doesn't bother me as much.

Is this 10 miles one way? If so, tthat's great, that's a good evening ride on a mountain bike.

What about cyclable roads? Or does it begin and end in the middle of nowhere so that you have to put your bike on the car, drive to the trailhead, and then drive home afterwards? Does it lead at either end to a destination, such as a shopping center, office park, residential neighborhood, college campus, or anywhere else that someone might have reason to go to, or is it designed with the idea that riding up and down the trail is an activity in itself?

There is a state park in the middle of it, and it is accessible by roads. Unfortunately, they are busy roads with no bike lanes. The northern terminus is a sewage plant and the southern terminus is an abandoned train depot, so no real destination. It'll probably be a place for old people to walk their dogs and get in your way. We'll see.
