Bought this Friday for my dear wife. Significant improvement over her '78 Schwinn Le Tour III. We're making some minor adjustments to the bike to get the fit just right and she's adjusting to using the brifters. She should be dropping me in no time.

Got my new baby around the first of the year - 2008 Orbea Onix Dama, Campy Centaur.
I have made a few changes since these pics, but I'm quite the proud 'mom'.

Okay, I finally took a picture of my new steed before today's ride. I got this over the winter and have had some nice rides so far this year. 2008 Via Narone 7 Ultegra. I personally love the Celeste color.

Actually got a couple of bikes. The first is my last new bike ever..just ask my wife. The second is a single speed project 1980 Miyata. I wanted to do this to learn about older bikes and have some fun too. The Third is a throw away 1970 Schwinn Varsity I found. Its a smaller frame so I figured I could have some fun with my son and pass along my newly acquired knowledge about older bikes. We're gonna make it into a single speed like mine so we can cruise the beach on the weekends.

bdinger - The picture doesn't do the color justice, either. For me, the best part is the memories the color invokes. The day I was born my grandparents bought a boat that was very similiar in color, kind of a seafoam & white. Everytime I look at the color I think back to the fun time I had with my grandparents; fishing, water skiing, just riding around, etc... Man, I really miss those days.

Oh, and the bike is fast. With the same effort I am easily 4 of 5 mph faster on this bike as I am on my Trek 7.3fx hybrid.

Here's my new one. I took my 3 year old riding and when he gets tired I hitch up his bike to the trailer so he can rest.

RD has written of his new ride and tours around with it, so I think he was alluding to the fact that most that frequent the forum have already seen pix of the bike and his rides. Wasnt' anything negative as far as I can tell.

I don't see it as bragging. I loved your ride stories - your method was addicting, I expect more soon as you are able!

Well, Here's hoping for tomorrow. I hope to try a new seat position and maybe a real live hill!

Gotta go see mom in the evening, but I can get some riding in before that.

We can hope.

Here's the new road bike.

This is the new road bike

It's a Specialized S Works 2006 E5 Aerotec, I sourced the frame and fork from eBay, and the wheels.

The rest of the bits were either off my TT Bike, or from Probikekit.

I am happy to report that I put it all together myself, apart from the headset, which came with the frame.

Concessions to Clydehood are:
  • Zipp clinchers (rated to 260 lb)
  • Alloy Frame, Stem, Bars
  • Alias 155 Seat
I will be racing it this summer (winter here right now) in summer crits.

Edit:

Yes the bar tape is dirty and needs re wrapping - that will happen after winter.
