San Jose?

Anyone familiar with San Jose? I will be there on business for 3 days and will not bring my bike. Are there any good trails to run on? I will be staying in on Gateway place. I rented a car so I can drive if need be. I will be running at 5:30 AM. Any ideas?

Hi Chevy, you'll be real close to the Guadalupe river trail. Turn right on Airport parkway and run under highway 87. Airport parkway crosses the river, and there should be an entrance to the trail there.
If you go right (North) it gets you away from the airport quicker, while if you go left (south) you'll run into Guadapupe gardens park which is nice. This trail run all the way to Alviso, more than 10 miles, north, and probably about 10 miles south as well. All off road.

Have a good visit!

p.s. it can be cold in the bay area, even in the summer, especially at 5:30 a.m. I long sleeve layer like a lightweight jacket or sweatshirt is a good idea.

rich,

Thanks for the tip. I ran took your advice and went north one day and south the other. One way took me right downtown it was nice. The other way went out through a more residential area and it was also very nice. I wish I knew of a way to keep those little cinders out of my shoes. I got 10 miles the first day and 9 miles the second so all was good.

thanks

Hi Chevy, you're welcome. You're lucky you came when it was dry. Those trails can get pretty muddy in the winter.
