Introduction
Hello all, I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I recently decided to get back into cycling after a layoff from mountain biking. I also have not rode a road bike in ohh about 20yrs since my old schwinn world. I needed something different from running which I took up for weight loss. Even though that is working some days my legs just were not into 3 to 5 miles. So back to biking it was, road biking at that since trails are too far away and a sports car is not ideal to haul a bike. So by chance while looking at specialized allez and trek 1.2 I ran across a scott speedster s40, it fit perfect and I was in love with it spot on. So here I am proud owner of a scott s40 and an old GT Tequesta withthe only original part being the frame and seat clamp. I am loving road biking the smooth roll of the wheels multiple bar positions etc. I am now comfortable enough to consider clipless. Need to take a deep breath for that frst ride.

I am an old mtber that has turned roadie for the same reasons. You're gonna love it! I still do a fair bit of running but nothing beats the slow burn on a long road ride.

My Knees have been thanking me all week. I hope to eventually do a dualathalon in time. I forgot how much fun riding was.

Welcome to the addiction.
I had never heard of Scott bikes before i decided to check out their website. I want a full review of the bike after you get some miles on it, i think i just found what my upgrade from my hybrid is going to be.

Quick inital review, I love it.
The frame is different, the tubes are not round they are triangular due to hydroforming or whatever they call it. The top tube as you look down is completly flat. That said the frame feels nice and stiff the few sprints I have done for fun have felt crisp and no loss of energy felt in the frame.
For me I really like the stock seat for comfort so far
The fork is taing some getting use to coming from a suspension fork that eats up all bumps.
The only thing I can say bad on the bike so far is the brake rubber, The brakes feel fine but I think the rubber is poo poo, or I just like a little more bite personally.
Honestly I think I got alot of bike for the $$ and I can see this as a bike I will upgrade to better components as time goes on rather than look for a new ride. Up grades are 1/2 the fun in biking and automobiles
