Ride 18 - 39+ miles My Toughest Ride To Date
Ride 18 – 39.45 Miles 3 hrs 15 minutes rolling time.
OK - Now I know what it is to go on a hard ride. Maybe y'all would think it was a walk in the park - but Man it was over my head/ability. But I did it!!!!!!!!!!!
So short post as I must go lay down and watch Tv for a long long time. The ride started in Hiram, GA supposedly a Women only NARC ride (North Atlanta Riding Club). But of course the ride attracted men. They like the Women’s only ride - go figure.
This ride was great because I rode with people the whole time. Lots and Lots of rolling hill - climbs...etc. A ton of up and down. On the way towards the end - it just got harder. And I was with 2 others who were kind enough to cheer me on. One (The person who marked the route) said this ride is over your ability. I said "you are right!" I thought it would be like ride 17 (Silk Sheets Ride) but longer. Nope a ton of hills. So towards the last 10- 15 miles I had to rest at times. I just sat my butt down on the side of the road and figured ok what's the deal. Can I breathe? Need Water?? All of the above? So I'd drink some, rest and move on. The last 7 miles were on a nice easy paved trail. As I zoomed along at barely 10 - 11 mph I thought this would be horrible if I fall because I am too tired to pedal.
Anyway - as you can imagine I did have a blast! I am super woman. And the weight loss total is 25.5 pounds.
Ok that’s the report! I am a cyclist!!

Congrats !!!
Obviously, the ride was not over your head / ability -- just a very serious challenge. Would you have that same sense of acomplishment if the ride had been "a walk in the park?" I think not. You should be proud that you rose to the occasion and completed the ride. The next one (maybe not tomorrow) will be easier.
Again, Well Done & Congrats!!

Well .. tomorrow is Ride 19 - I lead a ride on our local trail - It's for an Outing Club I belong to - and I think I am going to be the sweep. There's not set miles- and it's flat. So it's three hours...and full of breaks - and for the casual biker up to the more serious level. So I am hoping it will be relaxing! Also included are Bladers and walkers...families, too. So I think it is my turn to take care of the newbies!
Thanks Bone Head.

Great to hear you had such a challenging ride, and you prevailed in the end. Keep it up!
