Another Clyde is out of the gate & running.

Hello all!… I’ve been telling myself I was going to get a real bike, get riding, and get in a little better shape. I keep reading on here about you guys doing it, and I thought, “Why not me too?”

Well, today I did it. I had not found a bike that I REALLY liked, so I was just going to buy what I considered the best choice and make do… Perhaps change the seat, grips etc.

I drove to the LBS to buy it and found a note on the door that said, “Be back at 4:15”. Just to kill some time, I decided to drive a little ways to another shop and met my match. A Raleigh Detour 3.5 with a 23” frame. At 6’4” I liked the way it fit.

I’m sure some of you have taken that test ride and the bike just “Clicked”… Well this one did.

Add the water bottles and a Sigma bike computer and put it in the truck! The best part… it was a hundred bucks cheaper than the bike I fully intended to buy (and was going to settle for) today. Ya gotta love Karma.

The guys at the shop were so good I actually brought my wife back and bought her a bike too.

For our first ride we did 2.7 miles together. Then I dropped her off at home and did another 2 miles alone.

Today’s weight: 295. We shall see what we can do.

Welcome to the forum. It's an addicting activity you've gotten into. Good luck with your weight loss.

Excellent! You found the bike that "clicked" and a good LBS. Saving $100 is a nice bonus too, but not as nice as getting your wife a bike and riding together.

Now it's time to ride, and ride, and ride.

Awesome! Hopefully you will get out there every day and enjoy the outdoors.

Welcome to the herd, both of ya!

Congrats on the new bike!

Your story is a little like mine in that I went to the store expecting to buy a Trek FX 7.2 but "clicked" on a Giant Cypress DX. Mrs. Zoxe similarly "clicked" on a Giant Revive, even though we were technically shopping for me that day.

Now I need to avoid "clicking" on anything else until these have some miles on them. :)

Welcome! Keep at it. Great that your wife is riding. I can't get mine to do it.
