I sort of agree with theetruscan regarding Wii Fit, but it just depends on what your goals are. If you're looking for a mega calorie burning, drip sweat and collapse at the end workout, then, right, it's not that. It's not "Wii Burn A Million Calories" it's "Wii Fit." It works on toning, flexibility, strength, etc, with some light aerobic activity. The idea is to increase overall fitness. The most important aspect, from my point of view, is that it's an enjoyable exercise experience.
With the 'Free Step' aerobics you can swap over to the TV and watch your sitcoms while it guides you and keeps track of your steps through the remote. A solid half hour of the free step is a decent calorie burning workout from my point of view. The regular stepping is, as was mentioned, fairly short and requires a lot of button pushing, but once you've completed one 'round' of it, starting up another is only another button press.
I really enjoy the Yoga portions, as it guides you into the poses, monitors your center of balance, and continues to remind you to breathe appropriately. My flexibility has increased tremendously by doing Yoga several times per week. The Strength portion is basically your typical gym class exercises, but again guided, it has me doing crunches and pushups when there was no way I'd ever do them without it.
So, basically, I view it as just a part of an overall set of fitness tools. Oh, and yes, it does scold you if you miss days. As was also mentioned, the tracking it does is really nice and it does it via BMI and weight, where you set goals per a period of time to change your BMI (instead of lose X pounds in X weeks, etc).

Dang - it is HARD to drink 8 glasses of water per day! But I'm doing it.
Other goals for this week include losing at least 2 more pounds and getting 30 minutes of exercise (biking!) at least 3 times.
Good luck to all!

Yup, I'm in Tucson, about 2 miles from the start of the 67 mile route. That will have to be a far-in-the-future goal. Right now I want to do 35 miles comfortably so I can do the short event and enjoy the activities afterward.

I think you might have misunderstood my post - I will be doing 30 minutes per day, three days this week minimum. But thank you for your optimism.

Off topic - kind of - did anyone see the show last night? I got a little choked up seeing Jerry's "transformation". That guy is an inspiration, absolutely amazing job and soo glad we didn't see another one that didn't really change.

I wish it was a vacation, I am going to Daytona for Biketoberfest and right after, Rhode Island for a Bike show in Proviedence (its work, I'm a bike builder). I am planning on bringing my Comfort Bike and trainer on the road and will be eatting lots of Subway while I'm gone, heck I eat there allot when I'm home. I drive a Freightliner Sportchassis and pull a 48' trailer full of choppers, so there's some room for my bicycle. And yes, I will be updating while I'm gone and will have my laptop with me. Good luck to everyone and so far I'm doing well. Three days and I feel like I've lost a few already. Gotta go, the sun is finally shinning so going for a quick 25 mile ride after dinner tonight..... SUBWAY !!!!!!

So to try and decipher that - You build mtotorcycles?? Sounds like a cool job!! And definitley - I travel each week for work - it's all about routine.... Also perhaps you can hit the gym in the hotel too? Sounds like a great plan!

Keep it up! I am only 44 miles in, another 56 to go which shouldn't be too hard since I'll put atleast 20 in on sunday and probably close to that on saturday. As long as I can keep my 16-18 miles per day for the weekdays I think I'll have my 100 that I was looking for. I've been eating a lot healthier this week as I have only had one bad dinner (damn fast food places SURROUND my house lol) and the rest has been ham sandwiches and whatnot from subway/quiznos. So I think I'll do alright come monday morning
Edit: After another half hour on the wii fit (advanced step) to get my cardio up a little bit I decided to cheat a tad and check to see where I was at...to see if healthy food was even WORKING...it is
Guys (n gals) best watch out come monday!

Since monday, 50 miles on the bike, 5 miles running (couldn't get myself to run yesterday, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR), 2x core and weights. So far so good. Epic 5 course dinner, not so good, pairing it with a glass of wine for every course, looking grim. Unfortunately I've coupled that with lots of other food and drink. We'll see whether exercise or gluttony win out (standard battle for me).

Good job everyone! Turbo - looking good - although - ya did break like our only rule . No weighing til Monday - Right? The Biggest Loser people wait until once a week - more suspenseful - and also I think it helps because ther are times we will gain a pound or two day to day - and our focus could be off the weight and just on being healthy...ok just my 2 cents. That said - I know I should weigh weekly - and in my "dieting" since April - i have only lasted one of the weeks without getting on a scale..so I guesss that is one of my goals for the week to wait until Monday to weigh myself...and then to be gentle with myself if I do not lose - since I am riding in a huge (huge 2 me) ride on Sunday and am on a very slow eight los plan - 1 lb a week. My theory is that when I have dieted in the past and deprived myself a ton - it backfires and Ibinge...so now I have the gentle plan.. Eat 6 inch Chicken Breast/2slices cheese Subway (no mayo, oli, etc- just mustard, lettuce, tomatoe, pickles..and if I am being really wild some olives...or cukes..) and I don't freak if I eat a potato or once in a while go eat something else (ok last night chipotle may not be my best choice...but I thiunk it will be ok)
OK - Today goals: DRINK MORE WATER, Don't eat anything unhealthy in the airport (Travel back to Atlanta, home!)
Workout:
Mon- Nada - Travel to Chicago
Tues- Elliptical - A bit easy unfortunatley was distracted by TV... 40 minutes
Wed- Treadmill with my itread.com talking to me like a trainer aka Jillian. Whew! That was awesome..
Thurs- Elliptical - More intense then Monday - shut tv off and listened to my itrain trainer in my ear...
Friday - Step Mill at gym - hopefully. Last week got major migraine afterwards - but man 40 minutes of that is like the Stairs challenge on the Biggest Loser, y'all remember that one? Up the skyskraper... Well the pink team is going on the Step Mill tomorrow 40 minutes....
Sat - Ride Sue Ride
Sun - Ride 80 Miles in Tony Serrano Century
OK The Bee is off.. Good luck!

I dunno about the once a week weighin. I weigh myself each morning in the same clothes on the Wii Fit. The fluctuations are pretty significant (+/- 1 pound or more) day to day, seems like once a week weighing can depress you if you're doing a good job and vice versa. Between today and Monday, there's a big difference for me, but between today and yesterday, a much smaller one, it seems likely that today was a low day and monday a high one. Do I get credit for that?
