Where to find retro bike...
...I want a bike I had when I was a kid. You know, the one with the bannana seat, sissy bar on tha back the went up about 3 ft higher then the seat, the high rise handle bars, maybe even the orange flag on the back. I just want one to putz around the neighborhood with the kids or town with and don't know where to start looking for something like that.

Check garage sales, craigslist, pawn shops, Salvation Army stores, etc.......
They are out there, because I have seen them, but some people think they are some great piece of art and want more than they cost new.

Bikes: I never learned to ride a bike. It is my deepest shame.

You could also consider buying a modern cruiser style bike like the ones made by Electra (and others). They are not exactly the banana bikes of yor, but ooze style (at least I think it is style ) and are a whole lot more comfortable for an adult to ride than a kid's bike, even just for cruising the neighborhood.
You could also consider scrounging the dump and recycling depot for banana seats and cruiser frames and make something unique.

I have seen a few people add ape hangers, banana seat and sissy bar to new cruisers to get that old muscle bike look and actually have a bike that fits better than an old 20".

+1 Craigs List. Also, post a wanted to buy on Craigs List. Also use one of the Craigs List search tools and be willing to travel a distance to obtain it.
