Nice ride today.
I took advantage of the 80 degree weather here and took the new road bike out.
I did three laps around the 15 mile road in the everglades. It was pretty friggin windy, fortunately only 7 miles of the 15 were head on wind. The other 8 the wind was off and on to my back. The new bike felt great and I am so shocked at the speed increase with the road bike. I knew I would be faster but not to this extent. I used to do 30 miles on my MTB in 2:30, I did the 45 miles today in 2:50. Top speed of 27mph, weird this is when i tried sprinting hard i went fast but then a few minutes later got pins and needles feeling in my feet.
I was hoping to do 60 miles but the reviews on the saddle that comes with my bike are true. It is pretty narrow and unforgiving.

Try standing every 10 minutes as you pedal in a high gear.
It gives the butt a rest.

80 degrees? 80? wow, you're only about 85 degrees above the temp here.

Great on the new bike and the new times!
It's amazing how a shift of equipment can radically change things like that. I got a nasty shock with a tire change myself. Trip before last, 17 miles with my usual average time and no ill affects physically. New tires, body screaming after 8 miles and a drop of almost 3 mph on my average. Went from Marathon Slicks to Marathon Plus since I'm hoping to start touring next year and wanted a tougher tire. Given what feels like a 2/3 drop in efficiency, I think I'd rather risk the slicks.
And I'm going to envy your weather too. Was 37 and gray here. Granted, that's quite warm for this part of the world this time of the year, but still.

Exactly, and with the wind chills you were only about 115 degrees above us. I rode 20 miles on my rollers and then headed out for basketball games.

Glad you're enjoying that new ride Jesspal.
If the saddle is a royal pain in the rear (you are wearing padded shorts right?) maybe you aught to call up a specialized dealer and see if they have an a$s-o-matic in stock. It measures your pelvis and the store associate will be able to determine what size saddle you require. Bigger is not always better.

The store I bought the bike from is a specialized dealer as well, I went yesterday and they did help measure me up. I was thinking of something like a Toupe Gel or Alliaz

Sounds fantastic, good on you! All too well I remember going from a full suspension MTB to a racer, its a whole new world of speed (and its great).
Now, go out and ride some more, especially for those of us that can't due to the weather (15F yesterday).
