Testing new skins and some trespassing

Had to take advantage of this 60* 99% humidity day to test out my new Fat Boy tires. I changed out my 1.75 Michelin Country Rock for some winter shoes. I got a set of Kenda Small Block Eight 2.10. I figured maybe if I got the big tires, they would entice me to get out and ride short trials this winter. I have tested myself several times riding road this fall/winter and I am not a happy camper with the cutting cold wind, but a few miles on trials or forest service gravel roads and I am a warm (out of the wind usually) happy camper....err Biker:thumb:

I am kicking myself for not bringing my camera on this ride. Sorry Beanz, I promise to do better next time. Anyway, I rode away from my little town to hit a hilly gravel road that loops back to give the tires a try. Along the way I got sidetracked. I passed our county golf course and noticed a dirt/mud road that ran down the full west side of this 18 hole course. I headed down this road that ran right along the course, as it dropped down into pine forests. When I got to the end of the road, I was covered from head to toe in mud:D

I had looked over at the clubhouse as I entered this property and there was not a single car, so when I got to the end of the lane, I was about 25ft from the asphalt cart path of the back nine. I got off and carried my bike over to the path and headed back to the main road. I know I was trespassing, but figured I could beg out if busted. I have to tell ya, I had a ball:love:. This path zigged and zagged forever. This course is on huge rolling hills. Could almost be a ski resort in the winter if we had the weather. There were huge puddles at the bottoms of valleys, so I got a great wash in the process.

So, I don't advocate trespassing, but I would not trade this afternoon for anything. As far as the tires go. Yea!!!!! I love them. I rode a soft steep set of trails a few weeks ago with my street tires and it sucked. These new skins are fantastic. They grip everything. With that said, they also have more resistance on the hard road. At first I was cursing it, but just like clipless pedals, after a little while I didn't know any better, so it was fine.

Total of 10 miles and 1000 smiles.

I was once cited by the cops for trespassing and have been stopped on three subsequent occasions. It's impossible to own a MTB and *not* trespass. All the good riding is just a fence hop away. Party on!

Weather in the Midwest. December 27th, 70* and 98% humidity. 24 hours from now it will be in the 20s.

Another 10 miles today. An additional coating of MUD:) And I am officially in love  with these Kenda Small Block Eight tires.

But, today I added my 3rd clipless fall. Busted the livin hell out of my right elbow:cry: Unusual twist to this clipless fall though, there was no one in sight:thumb:
