New toy and a request for input

So I finally gave into the itch and started collecting what i need to put together a new road bike:
It will be a Ultergra 10-speed drive train,FSA 36/50 compact cranks, FSA handlebars and stem, and Reynolds Solitude wheels on this Iron Horse Excelsior Race frame :

I still need to get a seat, seatpost, and left/front shifter. But I figure Ill have it up and running by the end of February. WHich leads me to my question>

I have a Giant OCR with 105 drive train and Tiagra shifters, and am thinking about trying to flip it into a Cyclocross bike that I can use during the winter for riding off road, and with my family on the local trail system. Here is the bike:

I expect to swap out the crank set for the new bike (putting in a square tap BB compact crank w/ 36/48) , and possibly the saddle. But I trying to figure out the best way to turn it into the bike I want. Should I sell it out right and then try to buy and build up a Cyclocross bike (leaning toward Redline or Fuji), or would I be better off tryign to swap it to someone else? Or should I have it disassembled and parted out?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and for that matter if someone wants to swap bikes (I need a 54 TT), or wants to buy drom me a PM.

Your Giant OCR won't be a good 'cross bike. The frame and fork don't have the clearance for wider 'cross tires nor does the frame and fork have cantilever brake posts. The geometry is all wrong for off road riding as well. Probably best to sell the OCR then buy a 'cross rig, unless you have the chance to deal with a shop that does trade-ins. (Rare, I only know of one shop that does trade-ins.)

I may be interested in the Giant if it is the correct size, I am looking for a 53 or 54 bike for my wife. Also where are you located? Please send me a PM
