Ride 67 - Silver Comet

Hey guys- Well Ride 67 was a nice ride on our local Bike Path. We rode form Rambo out past Rockmart for a total of 47.11. I went out with my ex-beau , now a good friend..whom I definitely was neglecting now that I have a significant other/date/whatever he is...so I went off and rode with my old friend - and we had a good time. I have to remember though these guys who do not ride often - it may be a good idea to dial down the mileage a bit. He was hurting on the way back... but I concentrated on riding without my hands which was really a first for me. It took a lot more work getting my legs to spin better and have more control. It also felt great to stretch my back. I know I admire the riders who ride no handed..so maybe now I can admire me?? Oh wait that's a different forum.. Well not really...with the riding and weight loss - I am definitely coming into my own...and loving it. So riding no hands just felt free. I think as I get better at it... (I rode for a long time that way...) it will come in handy on BRAG (Bike Ride Across GA this summer).

Ok the numbers - my computer is almost back to working..still has the wrong time..but finally it is measuring speed etc!) and I have my new wheels so all is well...Oh after the ride He worked on my car for 2 hours as the Power Steering Hose had a big issue.....Not to sound sexist - but I am sooo glad he was there - cauase I would not have had a friggin clue.

Trip Dist: 47.11
Ride Time: 3:11:07
Avg Speed 14.7
Max: 28.30
Cad Avg 81
Cad Max 158 (not likely)
Avg Pulse: 148
Max Pulse 183 (it's been getting higher lately - I think my max was 180 and now is about 184)
Calories 1383

Thanks for reading... Sue

Wow! Are you comin' on to me?

I am trying to get into riding shape. I have been doing commuting miles, about an hour a time. Need to build up to get some extended seat time.

I ride between 14.5 to 17, depending on hills and headwinds. Faster on the flats. I will probably ride on the low end of that for a century. Not interested in setting a record, just finishing.

I am shooting for 1st part of April-- what do you say?

Hmm.. Now that I give this serious thought...I say the only problem is my schedule - I am in Chicago half the time and the other half with my boyfriend...in the ATL so I may have a few issues with my lofty ideas..I think I must retract my offer and look forward to your Ride report! Go get em!!Good luck..Bring a ton of water...

Miss B,

In all honesty, I don't know if I will be ready by then. I will shoot you a note when I get a firm idea of when I will go.
