Today is the 150th Birthday of our Founder

Today is the 150th birthday of the original Clydesdale, Mr. Joseph W. Grimes who was born on April 3rd, 1859.

Mr. Grimes is also well known for breaking 247 Cleveland bicycle frames and getting them all replaced for free under the company's lifetime frame warranty, which eventually caused the Cleveland Bicycle Co. to go into bankruptcy.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I used the image zoom on my Firefox Browser, and I'm fairly sure it says 625 pounds. Hard to tell, though, since the image blurs on the text.

I'd hate to be the guy that has to hold him in place.

That's what I tried, and the number blurs as the image gets bigger.... Although at 625lbs, no wonder he broke the mild steel frames, that would have been common then.....
