Does this sound about right?

So, me and Benny went out this morning. Rode out of the car park an a good incline and made it up, Not much but still scarry after not having ridden for about 20 years. Then I did about half a Km and I had to stop and reposition. Then about 250 m, stopped and adjusted the seat. Then about another half a Km cause my legs were burning. Then about 1 Km and had to stop cause my lungs were hurting. Then 5 or six spurts of about 500m stopping to stretch the hamstrings, rest the feet and now home about 45 mins total ride time. Felt great. Must do again tomorrow!

Any comments, support, suggestions are appreciated!

Keep it up. When I went out the first time, I felt like I was going to die. I couldn't hardly walk when I was done.

It sounds about right. last july we started riding again. Did one whole mile the first night. Thought I was going to die. You'll be surprised how quickly your body will adapt. A "massive" ride like (gasp) 10 miles will be easy in no time.

It might take a couple of weeks of every-other-day riding before it becomes normal.

Well, Im pleasantly surprised. I plotted out my course in the car this after noon, turs out that I did about 5 Km, just alittle over on the odometer but cut a couple of corners on the bike so I'm really happy. Took the bike to a LBS and changed the saddle. It came with a racing saddle. No way is my bumm ready for that. It was a pain just to get there and this shop is around the corner. So yeah, I got a cadilac seat in a sports car. But What the heck. If it'll keep me on the bike, so be it!
