Below 210!, headed toward 199 lbs.

Weighed myself today and was totally shocked to see 208.6 on my trusty scale (and this wearing at least cycling clothing). Recently I had a bad stretch of 3 weeks' business travel and was a bit down about my cycling, but I can see sub-200 as long as I keep cycling. I'm really a faux Clyde since at 6' tall I really shouldn't weigh over 200; 185-190 would be great for my age and build.

To make a weekend near-perfect I had three good rides:
Friday: Easy 32 miles with DW. She did great for not liking hills considering the 1800 ft. of climbing.
Saturday: Not so easy 36 miles with my #1 son (older than his brother by 20 minutes). Of course he killed me on the climbs and could have killed me on the flats. Was fun drafting for 15-20 minutes at 20+ mph, but darn you don't see much scenary. Ive got 20 lbs on him and a rack and "trunk". He's ridinga relatively lightweight composite thing.
Sunday: Very easy 16 mile recovery ride with mid-point stop for coffee and a d***t.

Rick,

That's awesome. I'm jealous as I still have a long ways to go. Baby steps.

I'm just an old, somewhat overweight guy thankful to have rediscovered cycling. Also thankful that I stopped running marathons long enough ago that I'm got something left in my knees. The real heroes on this forum are those who through whatever circumstance have become seriously overweight, have discovered cycling as a near-ideal what of getting exercise and are taking control of their situation. Some great stories hereabouts.
