Bikes: "Hildy", a Novara Randonee touring bike; a 16-speed Bike Friday Tikit; and a Specialized Stumpjumper frame-based built-up MTB, now serving as the kid-carrier, grocery-getter.

Anyone use an iPhone or iPod Touch to track calories?

I've started using CalorieKing again to lose weight - I gained a bit back recently. I'm thinking of picking up an iPod touch to use for net access and as a PDA.

MyNetDiary has an iPhone/touch application, but CalorieKing doesn't. Anyone use either of these with a PDA or iPhone or even a netbook? (That's also an option, but a PDA is more portable.)

So, I downloaded a handful of apps and then stuck with the first two. I never did use sparkpeople.

Lose It! is about the best app out there, but the food database is not so great.

thedailyplate/livestrong has a better food database, and is more comprehensive, as well as synching with the website, but it just doesn't feel quite as convenient to me so I use lose it! If I really wanted to sync though, I'd use thedailyplate. Also, thedailyplate has a massively better food database, so I often search it when lose it! comes up blank.

I used sparkpeople last time I was trying to drop weight and I just started using Lose it! on my iPod Touch. It works about the same and I always have the iPod with me so it works well.

Same story here: I think Lose It! is the best available app, but I occasionally use the food database in the Livestrong (a.k.a. TheDailyPlate) app. Lose It! also gives one of the more conservative estimates of calories burned from cycling. The exercise database seems to be pretty large, though I have no idea how accurate their numbers are.

Unfortunately, nobody has a good estimate for HIIT training, or especially HIIT crosstraining.
