First Impressions Of Madone P1

So I took out the 5.5 for it'a maiden vouyage yesterday and even thou I did test ride one after a true and proper fitting all I can say is well, I don't know, I'm speechless. This bike is amazing, the difference form my old ride is night and day, it rides so smooth yet amazingly responsive, the Sram Force is also grest, it changes gears so fast it will take awhile to get use to it. Did a short 54km ride with 1500feet of climbing so I had a bit of everything in this ride. The Bontrager X Lite wheels roll fantastic such a lovely sound while cruising. I can't wait for my first big ride. I really am amazed and am estatic I bought this bike, I have heard many times a bike will not make much of a difference and I've always backed that up, well I'm not so sure about that now. I did this ride on 3 hours sleep in last 48 hours and yes I was pumped about ride but it was just so effortless. Well I better stop or this post will go on forever. I will end it by saying if you are thinking of getting a Madone stop thinking and just buy it!

Congrats on the new carbon! Contrary to the misinformed, it does not randomly explode,:p

I had the pleasure of stealing a ride on a friends Madone after changing out a crank for him and perhaps I had visions of Lance dancing up the Pyrenees clouding my mind, but it did indeed feel fantasticly smooth and responsive -- even compared to my lesser carbon bike.

P1 in black with black carbon flames is my new poster bike.

Madones are nice bikes, i had an 08 4.5 for about a year, then sold it, i thought the geometry was a little to relaxed.

I couldn't agree more. I have been on MTB's for a couple of decades (got tired of flats and broken spokes on road bikes) and thought I would get back on a road bike. I bought a Madone 6.9 Pro and am totally blown away.
Of course I knew it would be faster, but what I totally didn't expect was it was smoother over cracks/small bumps on the pavement than 2 of my hardtail AL MTB's. Even though I am on 23mm 110psi slicks as opposed to 2.2 inch 45psi knobs. It's like one of those , this can't be happening moments, it is SUPER STIFF laterally but has compliance vertically (CF at it's best). Now I just have to see if I get as many flats :)

So if anyone wants to get rid of their Madone's, I will be glad to take it off your hands. LOL

That is cool that your new Madone is such a fantastic improvement over your previous bike. I too ad a similar experience, (on a smaller scale of course) when I upgraded from a dept store MTB to my current KHS. I could not believe the difference in ride quality, and how easy it was. I can only imagine what a carbon framed bike is capable of. Must be totally awesome. Enjoy!
